September Giving Items
Donations for the month of September are items for health kits. Your donations may be left at the back entrance near the Welcome Center.

Shueyville United Methodist Women
This month's SUMW meeting will be held on Monday, September 9th at 7:00 p.m. in the Music Room of the church. This month's program will be Women Expanding the Table. Hazel Schroop is the hostess and Nancy Streeper the leader. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Kinkead Breakfast Fundraiser
Steve Kinkead has been diagnosed with dementia
that is progressing rapidly. Your donation will help the
family with medical and household expenses as work
opportunities become harder. Thank you in advance for your support.

AGC Carry Out Dinner Fundraiser
This month AGC's Carry Out Dinner will be Monday, September 9th. Dinners
may be picked up in the SUMC church kitchen between 4:00-6:00 p.m. This month the menu is meatloaf with mashed potatoes and roasted corn. If you would like to preorder your meal, contact Brooke Weber.
Get Connected in the Kitchen
Our Wednesday night children's and youth programs will be starting up again on September 11th. Our youth pastor, Mike Jones, is in charge of the Exit X program for grades 6-12 and Heather Nekola leads 380 Kids for preschool through elementary ages. As part of our culture of Radical Hospitality, we offer a SIMPLE supper at 6:00. The meals are prepared by teams of volunteers at the church. Team leaders are in charge of the menu once a month.  Preparation of the meal starts around 4:00, is served at 6:00 and clean up is at 6:30. They are usually done by 7:00. Please consider being part of the kitchen crew. It's a great way to help make disciples of Jesus, leading by example, getting acquainted with church members and showing hospitality, all without a huge time commitment. If you would like to be part of a team, lead a team, or just need more information see Carol Crisman, Brenda Swanson, or Ann Uthoff.
Crop Hunger Walk
Crop Hunger Walk will be held on
October 6th at Ely Park. Send off will be at 1:00 p.m. You may pick up an
envelope at the church office if you plan to attend. Please support our walkers! You may also contribute on line at crophungerwalk.org/elyia. Thank you in advance for your
support.
Prairie High School
Grab and Go Pantry
Prairie High School Grab and Go Pantry is always in need of snacks for their students. As a way to help, SUMC is asking for your help by donations of granola bars, fruit snacks, cereal bars, cheese crackers, etc. There is a blue tote in the lobby near the UMW corner for donation items. Collections will be accepted now through April.

Coordinating Our Building Use
Are you needing a place at the church for a committee meeting or event? Please note that ALL scheduling of the building's use must be cleared and scheduled through Julie in the church office. This is not a "permission" issue, but we do need this central location for keeping track of the building's activities (we are thankful to be able to host a growing number of Boy and Girl Scouts this year!). Just drop an email or phone the office (848-7213), so there are no surprises. Thank you!
