The 2022 National Collegiate Championships are in full swing as Harvard aims for a team national title clean sweep for a third consecutive year.

The men's team final on Sunday, February 20, between No. 1-ranked Penn and No. 2-ranked Harvard in front of a capacity crowd at the Penn Squash Center was an instant classic. Harvard edged into the lead multiple times, only to have Penn strike back to tie the score. In the end, Harvard prevailed at the crucial time, clinching the 5-4 victory.

169 varsity high school squash teams featuring nearly 1,200 players will contest the world’s largest squash tournament—the 2022 U.S. High School Championships—February 25-27, in Philadelphia. Watch live streaming of divisions one and two from the Specter Center on the US Squash Youtube channel.

Team USA’s Todd Harrity reached the first PSA Platinum third round of his career, while Amanda Sobhy advanced to her fifth career Windy City Open presented by the Walter Family third round Thursday, February 24, at the University Club of Chicago.

 
First, US Squash moved to a new home in Philadelphia. Now, it has partnered with Penn Medicine as its official health system to keep the organization’s world-class players fit and healthy. As the official health system of US Squash, Penn Medicine will also be the official health system of the United States’ national team, the U.S. Open Squash Championships, and the newly opened Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphiathe world’s largest community squash center.

Earlier today, the Board of the World Squash Federation (WSF) held an extraordinary meeting to confirm WSF’s response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The WSF World Junior Championships 2022, scheduled to be played 9-20 August in St. Petersburg, Russia, will be relocated from Russia to an alternative venue, details of which shall be released in due course.

The first annual CSA National Collegiate Club Team Squash Championships took place on Saturday and Sunday, February 19-20, at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia. 27 teams participated in the Co-Ed competition across three divisions while five teams were able to come together in the Women’s Division.

Philadelphia’s Agnes Irwin School and Episcopal Academy both claimed the first Middle School national title in program history, defeating perennial title contenders Greenwich Academy and Brunswick in the finals Sunday, February 13, at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia.

Tom Page was one of the most electrifying and talented squash players in American history and was the greatest of prodigies. Tom Page’s squash career was all the more remarkable because he battled with mental illness dating back to his collegiate days and was later diagnosed with schizophrenia.

An early adopter of softball, Gengler-Saint spent two summers training in England and one in Toronto. She won the National Singles in 1989 and the Hyder Cup in 1981 and 1983. She played on Team USA at the Women’s World Teams in 1981, 1983, 1985, 1987 and 1989—setting a standard for representing the country that remains unexcelled.

The Specter Center was jam-packed, February 19-20, with eager club team players from across the country getting their first taste of Club Team Championship competition. By the end of the event on Sunday, four teams had walked away with trophies while many more had great experiences and lasting memories.
