Ten Americans to Compete in PSA World Championships

Ten Americans will compete on the world’s biggest stagethe 2024 CIB PSA World ChampionshipsMay 9-18, in Cairo, Egypt.


Two weeks after reaching her first career PSA Gold final in Egypt, Olivia Weaver leads the U.S. contingent as the highest seeded American in the tournament. The world No. 7 enters the top half of the draw as the eight seed, and is seeded for a quarterfinal appearance against Belgium’s four seed Nele Gilis. Weaver opens up her tournament against Egypt’s world No. 52 Haya Ali.


The six-player U.S. men’s contingent is led by Timmy Brownell, who enters his second World Championships with a new career high ranking of world No. 37. Brownell recorded a top-fifteen upset last month in the London Classic against Fares Dessouky, and will be in search of another first round upset against 2016 World Champion Karim Abdel Gawad.
