Universal Studios Lot to Host LA28 Olympic Squash Venue

World Squash, US Squash and the Professional Squash Association (PSA) are delighted to announce that the Universal Studios Lot in Los Angeles, CA, has been designated as squash’s venue for the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 (LA28).


“For squash in the United States, there could not be a more ideal location for our sport’s Olympic debut than in Los Angeles and at Universal Studios," said Kevin Klipstein, US Squash President & CEO. "We are immensely grateful to LA28 and Comcast NBCUniversal for partnering to present squash during the Olympics in such spectacular Hollywood fashion.”

The announcement of eighteen LA28 Olympic venues sparked widespread excitement throughout the LA and international community. Squash's venue at the Universal Studios Lot featured prominantly in NBC4 LA's coverage. "It's like a little piece of my childhood with all the movies I've watched here," said LA28 Chief Athlete Officer and Olympic swimming gold medalist Janet Evans. "Squash is played in glass boxes. So, we're just going to set up a glass box."

The nation’s top squash players are set to compete in the 2025 U.S. Women’s and S.L. Green U.S. Men’s Championships, June 16-20, at the Specter Center in Philadelphia. The Drive to LA28 Campaign Launch Event and Reception, featuring U.S. Olympic & Paralympic athletes, the United States Olympic & Paralympic Foundation and Team USA Squash will be held on Thursday, June 19th at the Specter Center.
