- Digital Rochester is seeking nominations for the eighth annual GREAT Awards planned for September 26, 2018 at Joseph
Rochester Riverside Convention Center
. The "GREAT" Awards or "Greater Rochester Excellence and Achievements in Technology
" Awards were created to recognize companies and individuals in the Rochester community who are making contributions to the area's growth in innovation and technology. This year, four new categories are being offered, in addition to five previous ones. The new categories are; Best Technology Workplace, Project Manager of the Year, Tech for Good and Tech Luminary. Nominations for the awards will be accepted until July 13, 2018.
Nominations are being accepted for the following nine categories:
Recognizes excellence in achieving an engaged and productive workforce for a company focused on the development or manufacturing of technology.
Recognizes the best use of Digital Marketing to promote brands, build preference and increase sales through various digital technologies.
Acknowledges an emerging company demonstrating outstanding performance and growth potential.
This company is one that has growing revenues and has the potential of becoming a leader in its market.
Recognizes a high potential individual, with fewer than five years in a technology industry who has already made significant contributions to the profession and has demonstrated the potential for exceptional leadership and continued service in the technology field.
Project Manager of the Year
The winner of this award will have promoted the ideals of project management through display of a combination of technical, leadership, and strategic and business management expertise. By performing their responsibilities at the highest level, the Project Manager of the Year will have demonstrated his or her ability to motivate others, while delivering a successful project.
Awarded to a student, or team of students, currently enrolled, enrolled in Spring 2018 or the 2018/2019 school year at a Greater Rochester higher education institution, who showed leadership and skill in applying or advancing innovative technology for the betterment of themselves their educational institution and the Greater Rochester community.
The winner of this award will demonstrate excellence in using technology to support a good cause. Entries can be from commercial brands, agencies, tech providers or charities. The individual or company will show identification of a specific audience need and creation of a piece of work. It may or may not be pro bono work.
Awarded to an organization that has shown sustained commitment and leadership in support of innovative technology creation that provided enabling services of resources for other organizations to reach their goals and objectives.
Awarded to a technology leader who has spent their career advancing technology and/or has been a longtime contributor and supporter in the Rochester technology community. New this year, the nominations will be submitted by the Digital Rochester board and the board will vote to select the winner.
