Johnson County’s first digital talent attraction campaign was conducted during the fall 2021 Home-A-Rama in Bargersville, and results now verify that it was a big success. The campaign focused on the message that Johnson County is the best place to live and work. This message was later conveyed via advertising in this year’s NCAA National Championship program.

With the help of the Lilly Endowment Inc.’s GIFT VII grant, the Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) launched the first ever Employer Resource Network® in Johnson County. The ERN® model is a 11-year old, nationally tested program that places Success Coaches in the workplace of participating companies. Aspire is assisting JCCF with the ERN program and hiring of a Success Coach. The Success Coach will work with employees as they navigate through a challenging situation to reach their goals and succeed in life.

Last week was the final week for bills to get passed out of committee this session. A lot happened, including on one of Aspire’s priority topics – transit. If there were not enough controversial education bills this session, education bills were also used to dredge up old attacks on transit. This is the when the session turns into a game of whack-a-mol. Thanks to our skilled lobbyist and a strong coalition of chambers of commerce, Aspire plays with a big mallet.

Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers delivered his eleventh State of the City last week at Aspire’s Legislation Matters luncheon. Mayor Myers touted the City’s low tax rate and competitive quality of life. In a breaking announcement, he concluded by formally announcing he is seeking a fourth term as Greenwood Mayor in 2023.
