The Angry Donut Recognized in New Hampshire Magazine

It’s been said that the world runs on donuts. Actually, no one said that. But they should, because everyone loves donuts. Since we live in a region where you can score a glazed every 100 yards or so, the trick is finding the best. Real enthusiasts will go out of their way to unearth a treasure, and a little inside knowledge can lead to a sweet, satisfying reward.

The Angry Donut & Cafe-Don’t let the name fool you — there are some pretty happy bakers plying their trade in Stratham. There’s no other way to explain the utterly unique donuts at The Angry Donut & Cafe. Scratch-made, hand-cut and fried on-site daily, Angry Donuts are unlike any other. Flavors include chocolate sea salt, maple bacon (bacon!), cinnamon sugar and raspberry jelly.

Galley Hatch Manager Celebrates 50 Years

The Galley Hatch Restaurant has seen five decades of change since it opened in 1970, but one man has remained a fixture from the beginning.

Harry Bobolas was surprised when he arrived at the Galley Hatch for what he thought was a general celebration of the restaurant’s 50th anniversary. He quickly learned that the gathering of ownership, town officials and Galley Hatch regulars had come to celebrate and thank him for his 50-year tenure.

The gathering in the Galley Hatch parking lot included Bobolas’ fellow local U.S. Marines like Police Chief Richard Sawyer and former selectman Phil Bean. Bobolas was a Vietnam War veteran who has since organized several Marine Corps birthday celebrations at the Galley Hatch over the years. Restaurant owner John Tinios installed a new flag pole in the parking lot and placed a plaque there commemorating Bobolas’ Gold Anniversary.
