"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."
-John F. Kennedy

Temperatures are dropping and snow is falling as winter came early to the High Country this year. The ski areas were able to open ahead of schedule due to some early season snow storms that came just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Here at the Marina we've been busy buttoning up the docks, shop, boats and yard for the long hibernation ahead. The boats may be asleep but we still have plenty of work to keep us busy as we head into winter.

Introducing the New "A" Dock!

We've come a long way since Dillon Open weekend  two years ago, when a group family photo turned "A" dock into an island. But that wasn't the first incident the dock had endured. For years, it took the brunt of Mother Nature and her wicked ways, from summer squalls to winter ice literally breaking her apart at the seams.

Now, the old gal has finally been allowed to retire, replaced by a new and improved version, ready to do it's job, protecting the marina and your boats.

Thank you to our "A" dock guests for your patience throughout this process. I know it may have seemed like it would never happen, but we are now so happy to welcome you back to your new and improved "A" dock home!

Hello Everyone,

I hope that November finds you well. Things are still going strong here at the marina as we round the corner into the holidays. Winter is off to a strong start up here in the high country with ski areas opening early and cold days for snow-making. It has made our fall workload a bit challenging but nothing a good pair of boots, gloves and a shovel can't handle.

A-Dock is looking good! All of the new finger piers and concrete wave attenuation panels are installed. A huge thanks to the crew for sticking with this project through tough conditions and keeping us on target for a brand-new dock in 2019. It's impressive to watch the new system working during squall conditions. As designed, it is protecting our marina and is a welcome improvement to our operation.

As the great C.G.D. Roberts once said, "Water is a very good servant, but it is a cruel master". The low water levels this fall have been challenging. Thankfully, we can continue to operate due to the good work done during the last drought with an extended launch ramp and the sea wall improvements. I am currently working on a plan for future dock access if the levels remain low to ensure that we can continue to deliver the best service possible and safe access to your slip. The lowering has slowed significantly this month, but, it will continue to drop over the winter.

The reservoir is currently 22.78 feet down from full. This is due to the combination of a below average winter, very dry summer and an increasing demand in Denver. I would expect that this is our new, post-Labor Day reality for a while and punctuates the need for a dock access plan. Don't worry........we're on it.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Office News!

Ok, now that I have your attention...

As we inch closer to the New Year and that glorious time when I send out your marina renewals, I thought it was important to answer a few of the questions I seem to get every year at this time.

Marina Renewal Q&A

Q: Do I need to fill out the lease if all my information is the same as last year?
A:  Yes! Every tenant must complete a new lease every year. Each year's lease is only valid for one year and you are not guaranteed a spot until you return the lease and pay your annual fee.
Q: Will I stay in the same spot I was in last year?
A:  Yes. Unless you request to move spaces, you will be renewed for the same spot. If you wish to move spaces, yo u'll  need to request to be put on the "transfer list," which  has a fee of $25.00.
Q: Why did I receive a work order when I don't need any services?
A:  We do not send out work orders individually as it is very time consuming. Everyone receives a work order. If you do not need it, simply open the document & click "reject."
Q: When and where can I expect to receive my annual slip renewal?
A: Renewals will go out via EMAIL the first week of January. You can access the documents through that email or in your  Online Portal  account.
Q:  When is my renewal due?
A: All renewals are due by March 1st . However, if you pay on or before February 1st, you will receive a 2% discount off your slip or storage fee.
Q:  If I were to stop by and pay in person, what kind of coffee should I bring you?
A: Soy Chai is my fav! But, really you don't have to do that!
