"We may all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now."
-Martin Luther King Jr.

Boats are literally flying out of the water here at the marina. In just another day or two, the slips will finally be empty and our shop and parking lots will be full. I don't know about you, but it seems like we just finished getting all the boats into the water! Time sure flies when you're having fun! We hope your time with us this summer was just as fun as ours and we look forward to seeing you all again come spring. Read on below for a bit of winter news!

What Happens all Winter?

Here it is almost November and I've already gotten that yearly question, "What do you do in the winter?" Some think I run off to another job or even take a 6-month vacation...probably to somewhere warm. To that, I say, "Yes please!"

But no! I n fact, we're here all winter long, doing the "behind-the-scenes" projects we don't have time for all summer. Plus, winter is really when all the magic happens! It's our time to repair boats, buy new boats, upgrade our computer and communication systems, buy items for the retail shop, work on marketing strategies, play slip chess and yes...sometimes going on a tropical vacation. Hopefully my husband is reading this!

2019 Slip & Storage Renewals

One of my biggest projects this time of year is preparing for slip and storage renewals. Two short months from now, you'll receive an email from me with your 2019 Marina Renewal. It will come from the  Marina Customer Portal and you'll have until March 1st to return it. That said, please make sure I have your most current email address. Also, if you have not yet signed up for an online account, you'll still receive the renewal in your inbox, but if you choose to wait awhile before renewing, you may  find  yourself scanning through months of emails (and SiriusXM renewal reminders) to locate it again. Do yourself a favor...Sign up Now!

1. Choose a Username and Password.
2. Enter in all remaining information & click "Submit."
2. Next, you'll wait for the marina to tie your online account to your marina account. Once done, you'll get a confirmation email.
3. Now you're ready to sign in with your username and password to access any documents the marina has sent you, as well as pay invoices and view receipts. Note! The portal does not except partial payments. If you are splitting charges with a partner, feel free to give us a call and we can take your information over the phone. Also, if you have any questions or problems when signing up, let me know.

A Note from Craig

But before we get to Craig, I think we need to come up with a better title than "A Note from Craig," don't ya think? I'm taking requests so send in your suggestions...the funnier the better!

Hello there,

November is right around the corner and we are busy putting this whole boat party away for the winter. With the low water levels, we have been accommodating the Frisco Bay Marina's customers as well so there's no shortage of things on the to do list.

A huge thank you to the Dillon Marina Crew for all their hard work and dedication. Without them, your boat would still be in the water.

As it is today, the reservoir is 20.99 feet down from full with a total inflow of 103cfs and a total outflow of 130cfs. This is a significantly slower outflow from a month ago but still more out than in.

The predictions from Denver Water are like 2003 with a possibility of the reservoir at 54 feet down from full in March 2019. Back then, we received 7 feet of snow in one week in April and the reservoir recovered. In the meantime, we will be pushing all the floating marina infrastructure to deeper water for the winter and hoping for snow. If the water remains low, we are working on plans for low water dock access that will work for the next drought as well.

The A-dock project continues with the last of the 24 anchors being placed for the main structure and installation of the finger peers. We are going to continue this project through the fall and complete everything we can until winter takes hold.

That pretty much sums it up for now. Happy Halloween and my best to you all.
