December 2019

T'was the night before Christmas when all through the town,
Not a creature was stirring not even a hound,
The boats were lined in the lots with care,
In hopes that summertime soon would be there;
Our employees were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of shrink wrapping danced in their heads,
Karlee in her office and Craig in his loft
Had just made coffee to relieve the chill from the frost-
When out on the lake there arose such a clatter,
We sprang from the shop to see what was the matter!
Away to the rental dock we flew like a flash,
Hustling down the gangway trying not to crash.
The moon reflecting on the new fallen snow,
Gave our eyes quite the burn as we looked down below.
When, what to our adjusting eyes should appear,
But an old wooden boat and eight tiny reindeer.
With a salty old sailor, so lively and quick,
We knew in an instant it must be St. Nick!
He yelled,"Around this dock, to the top of the sea wall"
"Now sail away! Sail away! Sail away all!"
Up to the top of the shop they did fly,
With their boat full of goodies for us girls and us guys.
St. Nicholas sure does know what we need,
As all our gifts were from trusty West Marine.
Wasting no time, he sprung to his boat and pulled in the main,
And away they all flew, those reindeer quite tame:
But we heard him shout as he sailed out of sight,
Happy Holidays to all, and to all a good night!

We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and we"ll see you all in 2020!

Hi Everybody,

What a year!! Last December I was celebrating the holidays with a pile of pain killers after just having my knee replaced. As much fun as that sounds, I think I prefer this December.
I have a new adventure for you. Last month, we put my new knee to the test, and it came through with flying colors!

When the girls were about 5 years old, and after a few too many beverages around a backyard fire, we promised them that we would go skydiving for their 18th birthday. Well, that day came, we traveled to Skydive Moab, UT, strapped on a human backpack and jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. What a great experience! It's about a 50 second freefall followed by a silent flight back to Earth. If any part of you is curious, I highly recommend it. Skydive Moab is a friendly, professional outfit, you can't beat the view and beer tastes really good afterward. I'm looking forward to doing it again.

"If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you." Stephen Wright

It's that time of year again. The boats are put away for a long Winter's nap and the shop is full of projects. If you don't already know, along with Jared's amazing skill set, our Service Manager Evan Myers is now year-round.  You don't have to wait until Spring to get that motor tuned or that steering fixed. Evan will be traveling to Wisconsin in January to add an Evinrude certification to his already strong resume. This is the next step in the service that we can provide to our customers and continues the great legacy here at the Marina. Please let us know if we can help get you ready for next Summer.

As the solstice approaches, I am looking forward to longer days and am reminded of what a great trip around the sun this year has been. It is a pleasure sharing that journey with all of you. I hope you have a wonderful Holiday and I'm excited to see what 2020 has in store.

Back Office News!

By Karlee Ferris

Ho, ho, ho, happy holidays! This time of year things are pretty quiet around the marina from the outside but if you come inside, we are as busy as ever. What could we be doing, you ask?  Well, renewals for the slips are about to be sent out!  In order to do this task, all marina accounts for 2019 must be closed. If you have an outstanding balance on your account, we graciously ask that you take care of it before the clock strikes
12 on New Year's Eve.

There are several ways to complete this task:

1) Access the information through the Marina Portal

2) Call the office 970-468-5100 ex 105

3) Send a check to P.O. Box  4425 Dillon CO, 80435

4) Swing by the marina and do it in person
The 2020 renewals are ready to be dispersed. Please make sure you have signed up for a customer account in the Marina Portal.  If you are signed up for the portal, you do not have to search through your inbox to try to find your renewal. Once you have your account set up, you can access everything that has been sent at anytime.
