WHAT IS DIMES FOR DPHIE?
DIMES for DPhiE (D4D) is the Delta Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation’s annual giving campaign/competition lasting the entire month of March. D4D honors the organization’s founding and commemorates the impact, leadership and service of our Founders, the DIMES. The acronym, DIMES, uses the first letter of the first name of each founder, Dorothy, Ida, Minna, Eva and Sylvia.
WHAT IS THE GIVING GOAL?
$200,000 in donations and 102 new donors (one for every year of our sisterhood) are our goals for D4D 2019.
WHY SHOULD I GIVE?
By giving to D4D, you are honoring our Founders and the values they established over 100 years ago. It is our responsibility to ensure that their mission of Sisterhood, Justice and Love continues to flourish. Also, being a donor provides your sisters wonderful opportunities for professional and personal growth.
WHAT DOES THE EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION DO WITH THE MONEY?
Money raised goes to offset some of the cost for personal and professional development programs. Professional programs include Engage U, Capitol Hill visits and the international leadership consultants. Additionally, our International Leadership Forum is a biennial event that provides both personal and professional development to our members and alumnae. Lastly, the educational foundation provides funds for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives as well as merit and need based scholarships for qualified members.
CAN I CONTRIBUTE TO A SPECIFIC CHAPTER GOAL?
Yes! Donors who choose to make a gift toward the overall fundraising totals of a specific chapter, active or inactive, will help that chapter win their D4D competition and earn money for their programming.
WHAT IS THE D4D CHAPTER COMPETITION?
The new competition puts all of the chapters of the same size against each other. Chapters compete against one another to go “all in” by donating a minimum $25 for every active member. Each chapter in their size category who raises the most money from going “all in” and collecting donations from alumnae, family and friends, wins! Finally, the ONE chapter that gets the most new donors from alumnae, family and friends, at the $25 donation level or higher, will receive a special prize for programming!
HOW CAN I CONTRIBUTE?
Alumnae, family and friends make their donations online, through “Give Campus” (more information about Give Campus to come). You may also give by contacting Coordinator of Development Andrew Deal at adeal@dphie.org or by calling (215)732-5901.
WHAT DO ALUMNAE GET FOR GIVING?
Alumnae who give $100 or more will receive a bracelet that honors our founders with the engraved coordinates of the location at New York University, where the DIMES founded DPhiE.
