TLAR: Reserve Currency AAA | DEFINITION OF 'RESERVE CURRENCY'

A foreign currency held by central banks and other major financial institutions as a means to pay off international debt obligations, or to influence their domestic exchange rate.

A large percentage of commodities, such as gold and oil, are usually priced in the reserve currency, causing other countries to hold this currency to pay for these goods. Holding currency reserves, therefore, minimizes exchange rate risk, as the purchasing nation will not have to exchange their currency for the current reserve currency in order to make the purchase.

Tlar:  Brule, what you have is a nice find but it is not the article where Saleh talked specifically of 4 trillion circulating dinars.      Thank you for looking though. By the way the article you supplied showing that the deletion of the zero program is to be done using the "nominal rate" (exchange rate) is another great find.

If we can find the original article, I think we can determine the approximate # of dinars still left in circulation today or at least we can come close.

Remember they only printed 5 trillion dinars to replace the existing currency. This also supports this argument. Another clue is the article that stated they only printed 5 trillion dinars to replace the existing, vulnerable to counterfeiting currency, also stated the #2.7 billion USD worth or currency that was to be replaced. This too gives a more recent clue.

Shabs is teed up first in the news for today.....would that serve as encouragement.....more evidence that the second reading of the budget is nearing completion...should be done on Monday....

then prep work for a vote....patience....patience....I know Frank has said the budget is done...and yes I believe him....but I'm also a meat and potatoes kind of guy....can't eat them until they are squarely in front of you...when they are ready they will put the platter on the table.....

until then....we nibble on the appetizers of intel......meanwhile....Maliki's son will be in front of the judiciary soon....the first in a long list of Maliki's I believe to have to stand and answer for their actions.

I hate to be the downer to some.....but it is simply ridiculous to believe that a complete overhaul of the current system will be completed pre-RV.....the process of cleanup/accountability will continue to be part of the process and/or implemented for several years.....

I'm sure I will get some that will begin to express their concern regarding bail-ins.....please use common sense people......this also is dreamed up in your heads.....the bail-in law was put in place for future banks likes Washington Mutual, because the new system will not allow the Federal Reserve/UST to bail-out companies anymore....

If their is a Bail-in it will be a single event (meaning one bank); therefore, due your due-diligence on which bank will be least likely to have such an event happen to them.....JMO
....
