Enorrste: Imposition of tariffs without a change to a float will not work. It will cause inflation in the country and place a heavy burden on the citizens of Iraq due to the higher prices.
Unless they simultaneously allow the dinar to float (while reducing the money supply) then the Iraqi's will see the value of their dinar fall preciptously due to the higher prices of imported goods.

Another WF Bank Story
My last banker, who is the second in a chain of WF bankers that was cool with the RV idea, had to leave and move away, for health reasons, with no notice to me. I was steered to another person, by phone, whose name I did not recognize.
I was extremely apprehensive, as I have gotten the "it's a scam" treatment from more than one person and branch of WF.
When I arrived, however, I was greeted by a familiar face. As I described the situation, he explained that he had been trained by the same manager I used to know, who had also trained my previous banker. The new guy had no previous knowledge of IQD, Dong, Rupiah, or the RV/GCR.
However, he was totally receptive. He contacted the currency division of WF, and was told the rates (all .00XXXX or .000XXXX). (Basically, about what I had paid for them.)

Brooklynkid: My sister lives in Tenn and was talking to his WM from 5/3 bank and he told him that they are waiting any minute for this to happen. He will call my brother in law who is first on the list.
FloridaK: Good evening room, I am in Florida and have been in this Chase bank before and asked about the currencies and was told no it's a scam. To I took a young lady to open an account and is asked the young man if he knew anything about the GCR and he said yes. I did not mention any name of currencies and he came out with the Iraqi Dinar, I said I did not call any special one, and he smiled. He gave me the Private bankers business card and told me to make appointment to see him tomorrow.

kue911 : my best friend has US government contact that said LD's are in circulation in Baghdad...That has to be a good thing. I can't see them releasing them if they have no value.

We all wondered what the CBI was doing in cutting the value of the Iraq dinar. So here now they are telling us.
I quote from the article below - "the parliamentary finance committee member Majda al-Tamimi said in a statement that «the devaluation of the dinar against the dollar and other foreign currencies, is considered one of the alternatives for external borrowing, and allows the state to secure the employees' salaries and control over spending, and thus reduce the fiscal deficit".
All I have to say about this article is this is pure nonsense and the CBI is simply pulling rabbits out of a hat to try to give the citizens the allusion of some satisfactory explanation. Do you want the truth of what really happened? I will tell you.

Sorry but today's news letter is very long once again. The news channels are just chock full of GOLDEN NUGGETS again and I want to bring it all to you today. The news is all VERY good.
I sincerely hope you can now see the BIG picture in what is holding up any significance increase in the value of the Iraq dinar. This holdup however is only temporary and we will see progress beginning very soon.
Today I talk about all the necessary laws needed to finish the critical parts of the Abadi reforms and complete their government. By the end of this news letter you should be very aware of these laws and be able to tell everyone why they are stalled and when Iraq is now projecting to complete them.

time2rv: the CBI will de-peg from the USD as they move to Article 8 because if they don't the CBI will run out of its reserves. By de-pegging the CBI will give value to the IQD and make it possible for investors to bring their currency into Iraq have it automatically convert into IQD, do business, near a profit, and then automatically move their profit back into their originalt currency and go home with it.

Iko Ward : Shanghai stopped trading last night at -6.86%. DAX down almost 4%. Forex at 1068. Gold climbing toward 1080. Oil back up near 38. Commodities still slipping. CBI now an official joke. ISX down as well. And last but not least, the DOW pretending it's only half-bad. Just wait. Every day we don't RV the financial world falls toward the Abyss. Unbelievable.
