Remember the good old days, when all you had to do was slip your allowance into a piggybank? Sad to say, your bank is a lot more complicated than that now, though last time we checked, piggybanks don't pay interest or extend loans.

You interact with your bank every time you deposit a check or get money from the ATM, so you may think you're familiar with how it works. But don't think that's all you need to know. To make sure you get the most of out of your bank accounts, we've put together a list of banking mistakes to steer clear of, with tips on how to avoid them and how to get out of the problem if you've already gotten into it.

1. What should I be saving for?

Separate your savings into three main categories: emergency fund, retirement, and goals.

10 Things You're Embarrassed to Ask About Banking  Paul Sisolak of Go Banking Rates

You check your Financial Inbox every day, so you always know not only what's going on in your bank account, but where every dollar went.

But even though you know the ins and outs of your own banking universe, you may not know how the whole system works or what you should do if something goes awry. Read our answers to 10 questions you might be embarrassed to ask about banking so you know what to do when you or your friend have an overdraft emergency or ATM snafu.

1. Why are there so many different types of banks? Don't they all do the same thing?

Technically, yes. All banks operate on the same principle: Customers deposit their money for safekeeping into a bank, and the bank earns its income by charging fees to customers for the service they provide. But different types of banking institutions cater to different clientele.

Dear Dinar Community,

Here at Dinar Recaps, we have always strived to post the news, rumors, and intel that help all understand our Currency Investment in a optimistic and uplifting manor until the Currency Revaluation happens.

From time to time, we have been asked to not post specific sensitive date and rate information or rumors that could possibly delay or hold up our investment, and we have agreed to not post that information. Dxxxxx Mxxxxx posted to Discount Tire:

My name is Dxxxxx Mxxxxx, I work at xxxxxx in Txxxxx SC... Today I had a customer come in for two tires, she was badly in need of four but could only afford the two, she paid for her two tires and went to wait in the waiting room... As her car was being worked on another customer came up to me and asked how much it would be to put two more tires on for her... He paid for her tires, wrote her a note and left without saying a word to her...

When the work was complete I told her what happened, gave her the note that he wrote and she almost came to tears with gratitude... It just goes to show that there are good people out there, they just hide in the shadows not seeking acknowledgement for their good deeds... I have never actually been witness to such altruism until today and I'm still in awe of this person... I just wanted to share this story with everyone and want to be able to pass on some hope for the less fortunate that good things can and do happen, I know my customer and her child will be safe now thanks to a complete stranger!

Tidbit Rumors & Opinions - Post By Leo Get Forum

10-13-12 Butifldrm: I found a little bit of information on output gap in reference to inflation. "Does a positive output gap always mean rising inflation? The answer is no - indeed beware statements in economics that carry the word ALWAYS because we can (always!) find a way of explaining a situation where the statement can be falsified!

When there is a positive output gap then the economy is operating with a level of actual GDP above the estimated potential level of national output. This indeed can cause some inflationary pressures to build up a) High demand encourages businesses to raise price and enjoy higher profit margins B) If SRAS is inelastic, attempts to expand output might be accompanied by rising wage, raw material and component costs."
