The workshop was chaired by the governor of Dohuk Farhad Alaterci and attended by Minister of Planning and Salman al-Jumaili and the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Dr. Ali Keywords and financial advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. The appearance of Mohammed Saleh, Minister of Planning Ali Sindi Kurdistan region and Dr. Fadhil Nabi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and head of the Iraqi private banks association Wadih Handal.

CharlieOK: I think the WTO thing has to be done by tomorrow. For that to happen, Iraq would have to have revalued their currency to be a viable member. Hmmmmm. I am thinking that on a govt. to govt. basis, a lot of things are history. For whatever reason, "they" are keeping a lid on it.

I've spent the past four days at an enormous game reserve in Zimbabwe with a guide who would put Bear Grylls to shame.
(Ironically, guides in Zimbabwe are the most highly qualified and well-respected in Africa-- they undergo more years of rigorous training and apprenticeship than most doctors in the West.)

A "green flash" at sunset is an optical phenomena that sometimes occurs when atmospheric conditions are just right, a green spot is visible above the upper rim of the disk of the sun.
Green flashes occur because the atmosphere can cause the light from the sun to separate out into different colors. Thus, a green flash usually only lasts for no more than a second or two.
Harvesting sovereign rates during the RV is like waiting for and seeing a green flash at sunset. It's very rare, but very real for paying close attention... otherwise you'll miss it entirely.

When those 2016 Year in Review pieces start appearing, one of the news stories featured will be the resumption of business and commercial interests in Iran, after years of that nation being off-limits due to economic sanctions, reads an article published by US magazine Global Trade. The following is an excerpt of the piece.
The demand for logistics solutions in particular is on the rise, and companies like DHL Freight are eager to fill the void. DHL recently installed two competence centers in Germany and Turkey for the more efficient handling of exports to Iran.
Truckloads destined for Tehran are being filled by a wide range of European companies, now that weekly departures for groupage shipments are available. German trade associations in particular are looking forward to an increase in bilateral trade, which will require a functional logistics network and stable trade lanes, both of which are in development.

Meanwhile it announced the General Command of the Peshmerga forces in a statement that all its troops managed during the same period to achieve big victories over militants to organize the so-called Islamic State (Daesh) by editing the 26 villages so far.

From Islandg1211 - THE IMF IMPOSED REQUIREMENTS TO MAKE ECONOMIC REFORMS BEFORE GETTING ANOTHER LOAN INSTALLMENT.
The IMF imposed requirements on the CBI to make economic reforms prior to getting another loan installment. The IMF isn't just giving Iraq money. One requirement is that Iraq improve their credit rating.
Although, the IMF hasn't stated that the CBI has to raise their exchange, it's hard to imagine that that wasn't discussed. An article today on a meeting between Saleh, Allak and others quotes Allak stating that has requirements from the IMF in order to get more loan installments.

Sunday UPDATE for October 30, 2016
Mosul reportedly has been cleared of Isis. The armies have their flags ready and are waiting on Ababi to plant the official flag .....the
expectation is Tuesday.
Maliki referenced on TV as the reason Daesh was in Mosul. Supposedly, the international courts will try him on war crimes.
Thousands of citizens are returning to Mosul since it is being declared cleared of Isis.
How do these reports affect us? Time Will Tell if they were significant to the public release of the revalued international rates.
