[millionday] - Leaders of the Arab Gulf states welcomed Wednesday Iraq's compliance with UN resolutions related to border signs' maintenance, as well as referral of Kuwaiti prisoners, missing persons and properoties to the UN mission in Iraq.
The leaders also condemned the firing of rockets from the Iraqi territories against Saudi border areas, considering it "unacceptable violation" of the international law and good neighborliness principles.
[millionday] In a final communique of the 34th GCC summit, the leaders welcomed Iraq's compliance with relevant UN resolutions namely resolution 833 of 1993 related to finalizing maintenance of border signs between Kuwait and Iraq.

Iraq imposes tariffs of 80% on imported wines.

[tlm724] told a news conference in Baghdad that the Council of Ministers decided in its regular day to impose tariffs gradually starting from the second of January next for the protection of national production and supporting the private sector
[tlm724] The decision includes luxury materials and secondary schools, with the exception of food, clothing and construction materials that go into local industries and agricultural materials and any material relating to the lives of citizens
[tlm724] "At the moment there will be a tariff varies from substance to another, which will be of 5% and above of the luxury materials and 80% of alcoholic beverages." The new law includes a levy duties on imported goods not included in the table of tariffs tariffs by no more than 20% of their value

Designation of participants to provide currency (a) The Fund shall ensure that a participant will be able to use its special drawing rights by designating participants to provide currency for specified amounts of special drawing rights for the purposes of Sections 2(a) and 4 of this Article. Designations shall be made in accordance with the following general principles supplemented by such other principles as the Fund may adopt from time to time: (i) A participant shall be subject to designation if its balance of payments and gross reserve position is sufficiently strong, but this will not preclude the possibility that a participant with a strong reserve position will be designated even though it has a moderate balance of payments deficit. Participants shall be designated in such manner as will promote over time a balanced distribution of holdings of special drawing rights among them. .. .
