Millionday: Launched the fourth session of the Conference of the oil and gas Kurdistan, which opened Tuesday in London, the workshop was attended by more than 60 international figure, representatives and directors of companies specializing oil and gas sector, in addition to ministers and deputy of the Kurdistan Region.

The workshop discussed, technical and legal aspects of investment in Kurdistan's oil sector in a scientific manner, while Vice Kordstani and pointed out that "in spite of the fact that part of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, but the conference for the region only and does not carry the name of Iraq."

Ten major US banks fined $43.5mn over IPO scandal

The US Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) has fined 10 major banks, including Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, $43.5 million for letting analysts fake research on Toys "R" Us in return for investment banking deals.

FINRA, the largest independent regulator of securities firms doing business in the US, fined Barclays Capital, Citigroup Global Markets, Goldman Sachs among others "for allowing their equity research analysts to solicit investment banking business and for offering favorable research coverage", says the report.

TLAR:   It is amazing to me to see Barzini second on this list. I might have thought he would be number one. All these guys were broke when the "new" Iraq came into being.

This follows what I said the other day. "people that live in glass houses usually won't cast stones", but in this case they are attempting to throw stones without hitting themselves.

Take a look at the list again. Many on this list are part of the group now championing the corruption free Iraq. I guess they feel that they have enough and can now point fingers at the new corruptors.

What this list does not show is the 1000's of lessor knowns that also were stealing. The 1000's of new multi-millionairs (lessor government officials) that were created during the same period.

Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Peterson without pay through at least April 15 as a result of a child abuse case. Peterson pleaded no contest to injuring his 4 year old son, while disciplining him with a wooden switch.

Ladies and Gents: We cannot ignore the obvious pink elephant in the living room. The possibilities are written all over the walls, inside and outside. Lets continue to pay attention to the trending.

The USA will not fall, for China needs their "money returned" at full value. The stock market is propped to the hilt and will probably slide into the Atlantic. I have been out of that market for two years.

Gold, Silver, Rare Metals, Energy sectors, commodities should soar on the Reset. What goes up must come down; and what is down will rise considerably on the Reset. Reasonable expectations IMHO will see Gold at $5,000 and Silver maybe $250 ish. IMHO, multiple currencies, metals, oil and real estate maybe our best bets.

Well Tuesday seems to be overly active with news thus far....here is some additional things to ponder for the day.....lots more news....but what are they really telling us.....not so much that we didn't already know.

Ebadi calls to speed up passage of the budget next year

Ignore the comment in the title about "next year"....you won't find it in the article anywhere....just some over-zealous reporter trying to "spice up" the headline....it's all about money you know....

Anyway....Abadi is quoted as asking "everyone" and this would be first his COM and then Parliament to "assume their responsibilities" and get the budget passed.....NOW....after all they owe this to the Iraqi people....something he feels great compassion about.....

TLAR: I have a question for everyone. If at 2% rule for 90 days is all important for Iraq to change the value of their currency, what did the IMF mean when they implied that their work with Iraq is done given they supposedly are only one month into a three month requirement?

Blue, I think your thoughts on this are excellent. Based on what you said showing how difficult under the present monetary system it is to hold at 2% for an entire month let alone 90 days, one could almost assume that the IMF statement could mean they have "given up" on Iraq based on their history. We know this isn't true.

Iraq has set a few dates when they thought they might RV only to pull back IMO because of the Maliki governments pressure.

Shabibi as far back as 2010 was going to "delete the zeros" at the end on 2010 and again on a few other dates since then, leading to 2012 when he decided to just take the currency international at 1166 due to the governments threats an d intimidations against him and his people.

Mike:  Agreed, Tlar, I don't think they'll hold it until 2016 either. However, the IMF's charter states that a country must hold a maximum 2% spread between the market and street rates of the currency for a minimum of 90 days before they move to Article VIII.

So far, Iraq has only been compliant for a couple of weeks. Does Iraq need this now? Yes! But they need to stabilize their currency before they make the move, and unless the IMF makes an exception I don't see a move yet. I'm hoping I'm completely wrong, but I'll keep my feet on the ground until then. Good to see you back Tlar.

hi-five:  If they wait another year, how will they get the Kurds paid? The Kurds have given a deadline of August 2015 to have all their demands met or they will move forward with plans to separate.

IMO, the risks of waiting another year are too high.   I also don't believe all the laws, the budget and ISIS have to be done before the currency changes.   The PTB wanted Maliki out, and that's been done.

I also think the progress made so far has satisfied them that laws are now in place to prevent another dictator. If the CBI is now secure and ready for the reform, it could happen at any time.

Budget, budget, budget....any guesses as to what the brunt of the news is about today.....well a sneak peek says we still can't see the budget...but that is ok....in time...in time it will be shown....let them align their ducks and horses and get pricing figured out....or be told what it should be.

The first clash between Berri "Daash" US forces in Iraq

Well, one of the first "reported" clashes between US forces and DAASH terrorist groups occurred in Anbar on Sunday morning, casualties were inflicted and the terrorists were driven back....the US response was in self-defense of their position at the time....the base being targeted was Ein al-Asad, about 90 km from Ramadi on the west side of Anbar....the fighting was joined by US F-18 air support as well.
