Stranger: Frank, Do you mean back when the IMF made them change it to $43 for the budget. It changed a few times and ended up somewhere around $43-$46 as I remember last. I thought $60 = 1:1 and $120 = $3.86- $4.42 by March 20th or the first week of March 2017.

: Welcome everyone to the call. This week, December 28th is our 5 year Anniversary of the Big Call. As it comes to a close for us I never thought it would take 5 years of the big call to see this through. I think it has been a wonderful time for me and others.
I want to thank the listeners for coming in Tuesday and Thursday nights. I know we have some new listeners and expanded our audience internationally. I know we have a number usually between 6 00 to 800 financial people listening in from the various banks not only here but all over the world. I really appreciate that audience. It is beautiful. Hopefully we have done the right thing in trying to serve the community at large. It is a team effort. I surely couldn't do it without Bob, Sue, Pastor Steven, and Kent. I really appreciate everybody's team work. Remember team work makes it dream work. There is no I in team. Only thing there is me in team. I never liked that.

Candidly, it may already be too late, moving to an open market economy with the supporting legislation takes time, hopefully there's enough time left for Iraq to save itself. [reference Guru Kaperoni post 12-19-2016]

Hi Everyone,
I bring you great news today. NO!, not a date or a rate for the RV but news that points us to the timeframe of EARLY 2017 and the importance of this period. It is all playing out as the news is leading us to it just as the CBI told us would.
In the latest news we see the stages of transition towards a privatized market economy from an economy run by a dictatorship. After all this is what these economic and financial changes/reforms are really all about. Saddam had made the citizens dependent upon the govt to provide almost everything. Nori al-Maliki also had aspirations as a dictator and so he had absolutely no ambition to
move Iraq away from this kind of economy. A waist of 8 years. Now we see this all changing with the Abadi administration. Financial analysts and economists are explaining the importance that monetary policy and fiscal policy for a privatization of their economy. Something really BIG is about to happen in 2017.
They are telling us over and over again part of this conversion to the new system (privatization) is to get the general public off govt payrolls and over to the private sector payrolls. They then will not only have a reduced burden of the govt for paying their salaries, but this money can then be diverted to paying off their debt or rebuilding the country.

The proposals, developed within the framework of the EU-funded project 'Improving TVET in Iraq' were presented to TVET stakeholders in Baghdad and Erbil on 5 and 8 December 2016 and were enthusiastically received by government officials and private sector representatives. The proposals are the culmination of an extensive and participative consultation process that started in April 2016.

Frank26: The budget ... that was signed YESTERDAY ... will come out with more to say.
IMO - Abadi took care of the line items (oil issues) ... he sent it to Jubari ... who sent it to Masum ... he signed it on Sunday ... and again ... IMO ... everything is cool.
This is why it's okay to tell the American banks that it's ok. Remember ... just like you put your socks on before you put on your shoes ... (this likewise is a logical sequence of events).
I believe deep in my heart ... that you'll see the banks who qualified ... will start selling the IQD.
The IMF worked very, very hard with Iraq to maintain their numbers, MCP and to remove their restrictions on their currency to become internationally accepted.
If banks are now selling the IQD ... how long does the UST expect the American banks to hold-on to this basically worthless currency? Smells very strong of an RV ... doesn't it?
To show NO RESTRICTIONS ... means Article 8 have evaporated. All they need to do is raise the value of their currency.
