Mike  I'm reserving comment on the amount of currency in circulation, Kimberly and Tlar's theory are as good as anybody's and until we know for a fact what the actual note count and currency in circulation really is, it's a moot point.

What bothers me about the topic of this thread is the CBI going to court to have Parliament keep their nose of of CBI business. The GOI and the CBI are very clearly not working together right now, which can't be good for a change in monetary policy.

9/2/2015 0:00   Despite the slight rise in the dollar exchange rate   BAGHDAD Mostafa Hashemi

caused Article 50 of the Budget Law for 2015, confusion evident in the dollar's exchange rate against the dinar, while the Governor of the Central Bank economist counting this article to intervene in the work of an independent institution.

He said the central bank governor Acting Dr. Ali Keywords that this article surprised us and we will seek to cancel the legal process.

He said in a statement the "morning" that there are efforts to create monetary stability would return check for investment and increased purchasing power, stressing the central measures will keep the Iraqi currency is difficult in every sense currency

He noted that the identification of the Central Bank and shall be obligated to sell $ 75 million a day in the auction is not possible, stressing the quest for the issuance of treasury bonds in dollars and for a definite period, as it will contribute to the achievement of stability.

Millionday: Parliamentary finance committee plans to send a package of important laws to the Presidency of the Council of Representatives for a vote.

Said committee member Haitham al-Jubouri told {Euphrates News} today, "The Finance Committee has a package of laws will be sent to parliament for a vote, and that the committee is determined to provide all the important laws, noting that one of the laws the Banking Act, which will be studied next week in the Committee ".

We are seeing the signs and movement all around us of the impending global currency change but yet it is still not here.

First remember that we as individuals really aren't that important compared to getting this right for the whole world.

I know it is tough to see it that way when you are suffering but try to think bigger. Life is not fair and it will never be fair.

Many of the banking crowd will escape prosecution and many will rue the day they compromised their ethical duties. This will not be perfect, yet it will be far better than the system we currently suffer under.

Warnings from the continuing decline in the exchange rate of the dinar against the dollar

[tlm724] that whenever the price of oil has increased the dollar fell, and vice versa.

[tlm724] indicating that the central bank following a drop in oil prices and the lack of fiscal revenue began to reduce the dollar amount sold in the auction to keep the monetary reserves, and this is what the impact on the local market

There has been a plethora of information via the news articles over the past couple of days and today's initial sign doesn't seem to indicate it will be slowing down any time soon.

Urgent .. Abadi visit Babylon today for the opening of a sugar plant

Ok, PM Abadi was supposed to leave for Dubai last night, now they are saying he's going to visit the opening of a sugar mill plant....something doesn't jive here for me.

Central Bank sold $ 300 billion in past years to preserve local currency

So the CBI has spent/sold $300 billion in the past few years through their auctions, an average of roughly $180 million per day they had an auction.....and these auctions have long been seen as a stabilizer for the IQD against the dollar.....

Could we be in for a VERY LONG wait for all these new laws, including the 2015 Budget bill, to reviewed by the Federation Council ?

Absolutely Not! At least this is what I am told by the GOI. Since most of the provincial representatives were needed to negotiate these new laws many have been already involved in the new laws all along. Dr Allawi has been running an "informal" federation council behind the scenes. Basically I am telling you most of these new laws are already reviewed by the members of the Federation Council. For the most part all they will need is a quick session and to pass thru the bundle and let Parliament do a final vote on the "basket".

So the Federation Council is now legalized and is implemented. It is a brand new part of the review process for a new law and will NOT be an additional burden and time consuming going forward on new laws, as many are believing. They will work in conjunction with parliament during the readings and supply their input in harmony with them. They have not yet had the chance to do so formally in the past for this "basket" of new laws because they simply did not exist as a council when many of these laws had their first and/or second readings. Remember many of these new laws originated years ago. Maliki was blocking the formation of the Federation Council.

Hi Everyone,

Today's news letter is all very good news, like amazing news ! It is all about these new laws and why we wait so long for them to be implemented. Are they the holdup for the budget and the RV?

I truly have always hated to give a date for the RV but I have to say this time a new window of opportunity for an RV is staring us right in the face for this week - and more than ever before ! It could not get any better ! . I just can not help to bring this news to you. Let's see how this is possible.

So today I want to emphasize once again that we are literally just waiting for the news of a hand full of new laws to get forwarded to parliament and then voted on by parliament. Some call this a "basket " or "bundle" of laws. But there is more to it than that. It is not that simple. I think we may not hear much more about most of these laws that are in the waiting. Like the monopoly board they intend to go directly to HOME and collect what is due to them. Let me explain.

Tlar    Very interesting posts guys. First let me say that if Iraq does it this year and I believe they have to, then they are more than ready to take the currency forward.

Abadi probably made a mistake or whoever wrote his speech made the mistake. It is not uncommon because most including me have made a similar mistake when converting trillions to millions or billions.

This is a common problem with dealing in trillions and it is the exact problem they hope to resolve in the program "deleting the zeros."

It is my opinion that Abadi had no intention of revealing anything about value other than his intentions to earmark a portion of the budget to the problems facing Iraqi citizens.

So I think trying to figure this out by what he said is futile. What do we really know.

RDiddy     Regardless of what he said in his speech, and it sounds like 5 billion dinar/450 million dollars to me, I seriously doubt that he would intend to convey a post-RV value prior to the RV. It must have been an error in the script he was reading in the telepromper.    I'm still holding out for 86 cents.-mrs d

livefreeThanks   HOF, he said "nearly $450,000,000", so close to what he said in Germany. Now, how can he give that number based on it's current value? It obviously wasn't a slip of his tongue (twice) because you see him refer to notes now and then.

But again, how can he reveal this to the world and assume all of us dinarians won't be salivating and hanging on his every word?

The rv has been the biggest kept secret in the whole wide world (feels like it!) and then he gives us a heads up like this? I don't get it. But I'm with Rockstar and will need to buy more... in a hurry! I'm not in this to pay off a few bills, I need it to retire!
