Damage Control: Taking an Unwarranted Vacation (From My Finances)
  By Luke Landes

This week should have been a vacation.

It has been, for the most part, but not entirely. While I've traveled occasionally over the past few years, and even chosen destinations meant for relaxation and time alone with loved ones, I haven't had one of those fabled true vacations.

My cell phone was still near by. I still took business-related calls. I still wrote for Consumerism Commentary every day, participated in discussions, and replied to emails, every day while not home.

Perhaps working for myself is a benefit and a curse - I make my own schedule but I feel compelled to take care of my responsibilities, at least some of them, even when I should b allowing myself to forget about work.

Here come the Tuesday afternoon news summaries:

Kazakh currency devaluation rattles population

Kazakhstan's central bank devalued their national currency on Tuesday, the tenge, by 19% against the USD.....some foreign exchange bureau's closed when they ran out of hard cash, and some business's have been forced to close as well as they wait on new supplies of cash.

Their government is trying to quell any panic by telling citizens that things should stabilize in a few days. As of Feb 11, 2014 the National Bank of Kazakhstan will cease to support the tenge.

This is said to be a rebound effect coming from a gradual decrease of the US Fed Res stimulus program that has led to a capital outflow from emerging economies to developed ones.....this in turn puts pressure on emerging market currencies.

If they are paid in USD's, the IQD rate is irrelevant......purchasing power is purchasing power, rates are just relative....

Perhaps Team26 can find out if indeed they are currently using only USD's in any disbursements that would be from the 2014 budget......now that would be Intel!!!...

Post By aggiedad77 Hi Society......the way that I read this is the Kurds are threatening that they have enough USD to make salary payments...

.this is not a disbursement from Baghdad for salary payments.....IMO....if the Kurds would be dipping into any "cash reserves" they may have accumulated in some location...that would not be the brightest of ideas. I do believe what Dr. Saleh says about the usage of USD with dinar on the streets....I think it is still very prevalent.
Just my thoughts  Randy

Why Some People Can't Save: A Matter of Urgency By Luke Landes

When I worked for a large corporation, I was around people who liked to operate their business responsibilities with a sense of urgency.

Every little task was important, and they ran around the office like the company's stock price depended on the speed at which they completed their tasks.

It's not a terrible way to operate, but in reality, in the particular area of the company in which I worked, I felt it resulted in a lot of wasted energy.

The company's performance was completely unrelated to how quickly one would fast-walk from office to office.

Money Systems That Lead to Success: Make Your Budget Fantastic    By Luke Landes

You can't discuss financial systems without addressing the elephant in the room: the budget. As much as everyone hates the process of creating and adhering to a spending plan, the budget is simply the best money system for building wealth over the long term.

The underlying principle of a budget is the key to all financial improvement: spend less than you earn. On paper, it's a simple concept based on arithmetic.

If you want to have more wealth at the end of this month than you had at the end of last month, your outflows - all your spending - must remain less than your inflows - all your income.

Who Needs a Budget?   By Luke Landes

There are a number of excuses for ignoring the concept of budgeting for one's own personal finances. Budgeting has a poor reputation. It's not fun, it's time-consuming, it's depressing.

While budgeting can be one of the most important steps for beginning a journey towards financial independence, there's a tendency to ignore this in favor of jumping into the stock market, saving for retirement, paying off debt, or even prescribing to the belief that owning a house is big positive step.

These are certainly all good things to do, but understanding how much money you have coming in and where that money needs to go is basic knowledge that can help you better determine how you can invest, save, and pay off debt.

In a video of Dr. Allawi, he states that violence in Iraq could cast a shadow over the elections in April, perhaps causing a delay.

He states that no one seems immune from the violence at this point in time.....that no one is currently attempting to talk with the peaceful demonstrators.

Allawi denied that he is leaving politics, confirming that his list is a national list that includes many areas of Iraq.

FACT CHECK #97   Posted on February 10, 2014 * .

Greetings, To All Of You!

The last two years have seen  information of a different character from ages past. Those who are in the trenches have come forward  to provide highly accurate pieces of information to be shared with those interested in reading it.

This contrasts with information found in prior years that was from just about anyone and contained just about anything. All these years later we can look back and conclude that although many had their heart in the right place, there just was not a reliable way to cross check and verify the source. So, the information was just labeled as "from a source".

This is certainly okay to come up with material for a blog, but leaves something to be desired in the accuracy department. Hence, for over a decade, we saw nothing come of the "updates" regarding the events germane to our discourse.

Well, as you have seen over the past several months, various analysts both inside and outside of the communication channels that GCR/WGS aficionados frequent, have seen converging news items pointing to the factual nature of a Global Currency Reset heading our way.
