I'm a Debt Counselor ... and I Filed for Bankruptcy  By Dave Landry

Posted on Jan 27, 2014

In our Money Mic series, we hand over the podium to people with controversial views about money. These are their views, not ours, but we welcome your responses.

Today, a debt counselor and financial adviser shares how, while solving his clients' financial problems, he mismanaged his own money to the point of bankruptcy.

There are certain times in your life you remember in stark detail. Your first kiss. The first time your heart was broken. Where you were on 9/11.

One of those days for me was the day I had to tell my wife that we needed to file for bankruptcy. That we would have to give up our three-bedroom home. That we had to break our lease with Infiniti.

Holitnaron: My brother in law actually knows a guy who cashed out when this was Kuwait. He said for months no info or disinformation just like now. He held on ignoring them and cashed out Kuwait dinar to USD when it actually happened.

AJM063:  Hi everyone. I have a very good friend who is a newbie, and she is really struggling financially. She lives out in San Diego. Today she decided to go to all 3 banks to ask about the Dinar. Here is what she was told:

Chase: They said "We can't tell you yet." At least no denial.

Bank of America: They were kind of nasty. She was told they will never sell nor redeem the Iraqi Dinar.

Wells Fargo: She was told they had a meeting last Friday and were told they would have new rates on screen today but that bank officer did not know why it never happened..

I think this is encouraging, don't you?   Regards  AJM

[Papa Bear] You know by our Care Bear doesn't steer away from controversy co a comment this morning on Helicopter Ben Bernanke. .IMHO he did a good job navigating us over a very bumpy economic road however I will wait for my conclusions to see how our scaling back effects our economy. We are growing but still on perilous ground IMHO . Care by Yellin is a necessity.

[Papa Bear] LEW NEEDS TO PITCH IN AT THIS JUNCTURE

[dudenocoins] Papa Bear - Lew cannot pull the trigger... he works for POTUS and so does the IMF in a round about way. The political leaders around the world would have to agree as to when and with China celebrating the new year we will just have to wait IMO.

[dudenocoins] Papa Bear - your thoughts on banks placing limits on withdrawals? Liquidity issues or attempts to raise liquidity percentage?

[Papa Bear] dudenocoins Limits on withdrawals is questionable unless you're talking about cash withdrawals. The asset diversification to different locations has to be handled appropriately and can't happen in one day. Adhere to what you are told at C/E and mind your NDA

FYI This is Greg McCoach in 8-9-2011 on the UST holding trillions of Iraq Dinar

http://www.wealthdaily.com/articles/the-revaluation-of-the-iraqi-dinar/3145

U.S. national debt will exceed $14.5 trillion by the end of the summer.

The government has been underwater so long, it has gills...

But despite their desperate condition, the Feds still have a few tricks up their sleeve that will allow them to keep "kicking the can" down the road.

One of the gimmicks they've cooked up to stave the wolves off is becoming more and more evident: Iraqi Dinar Revaluation.

Compilation of today's news.....sorry this is getting to you so late:

Iraq to raise production by 50% in 2015

Iraq seeks to increase oil production to 4.7 million barrels per day by 2015.....I love how "S" claims that the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline was blown up 54 times in 2013....and "we" still managed to average 250,000 barrels per day.....it seems that above-ground piping is an easy target for just about anyone....from teens with nothing to do to terrorists.

Proposal .. Set up a fund called petro dinar

The petrodollar will be set up in a separate account for all provinces and will be doled out based on need it sounds like....for 2014 it is anticipated that 170 trillion 411 billion dinars will be generated from oil production revenues. This rise in the budget will also increase the deficit to 30 trillion dinar.

The 5 Tenets of Finance That I Learned From My Mom    By Kaitlin Butler

I owe my financial habits to my mother, and I say that with pride and with the fear that she might melt me with her eyes if I didn't.

As one of the "greats," even in a particularly frugal line of strong women, Mom not only taught my sister and me the secrets to financial security but she also always led by example.

Throughout several years of difficult times, including a sudden 50% reduction in our annual income when my father's career was downsized for several years, it was my mother's spending and saving habits that kept the family afloat.

Far enough afloat, in fact, to maintain my enrollment in private school and then put me through college, her second greatest gift to me after common sense.

The 5 Greatest Money Lessons I Learned From My Dad    By Colleen Oakley

I knew I had married my father the day my husband Fred lost his black comb.

It was four inches of plastic with teeth and cost about 75 cents at the CVS, but instead of parting with three quarters to buy a new one, Fred spent the better part of a day tearing our house upside down, searching every nook and cranny of his Jeep and muttering things like, "It's not like it could have walked off on its own!"

My dad is cheap, and I thought my husband was just like him.

That is, until we needed a new car. I balked at the mere suggestion that we needed Bluetooth, or leather or--God forbid--a sunroof. As my husband envisioned a new, luxury vehicle, all I could see were dollar signs adding up fast. "Wait a minute," I said. "I thought you were the cheap one in this relationship. Why do you want to spend so much on a car?"

This has never been address on any chats but I have my SEP IRA invested in the IQD(IQN). So I set an appointment with a W.F. private banker to have my IRA account and "assets" transferred to W.F. in order to simplify an exchange.

I came prepare, knowing I would be rejected. I brought in my current statements from the holding company that is overseeing my IRA as well as the company that has the actual hard currency in their vaults.

Before allowing the private banker to see my statements, I asked him if I could be a little defensive with my explanation of why I set up the appointment.

He agreed, so I stated my assets are in a foreign currency that many in the banking institutions are publicly calling a scam or illegal.

Just wondering as this is debated on here a little bit and wondered if this is something that your sources ever talk about. thank you in advance boss.

Stevel: It is not any one person but rather many groups that can not agree on anything. I am still looking a maybe the first quarter of this year or perhaps mid summer at the latest. Remember, stay grounded and let it come to you.

Please do not get all caught up in the hype that it will happen at any moment. If you do, you will be so disappointed.   Have a safe weekend.   Steve
