Randy: Yes GREAT question Ranman and thank you for taking the time to answer DR. Clarke.
I also read these posts Ranman was referring to, and because I have CHOSEN to believe, I do chalk them up as their individual and entitled OPINOIN.... but when I couple their combined pessimistic opinion with the ONE question that has been nagging me for about 2 yrs and as of yet have not heard ANY lurker, blogger, guru or anybody touch on..... is this.
We know that both Vietnam and Iraq's currencies were put under a program rate, sanctions, artificially downgraded or however one words it.... but the point is it happened because of WAR as a means to disable, conquer and win.
Well Vietnam has not only survived but it seems to have thrived on this excessively low rate, for what 41 yrs........ Whats keeping Iraq from functioning or even growing and thriving and trading internationally at their program rate for years to come like Vietnam has?
So Dr Clarke if you can shed any light to this nagging unanswered question it would be appreciated greatly.

Arthur There is clearly and quite palpably nothing formerly glorious about the UN sanctioned current programmed rate of the IQD. And the very notion that they are satisfied or could even continue indefinitely to function at this level is totally ridiculous.
The Arabic phrase "former glory" used by the Iraqi's here as clearly indicates a return to its original high standing it had when it was one of the worlds leading currencies. They have indicated in no uncertain terms that as soon as Mosul is sufficiently edited the Iraq currency will then and only then return to its aforementioned "former glory."
The UN meeting today showed they are well into finishing up this phase which is the liberation of the Western portion of Mosul.
The new U.S. administration appears to be taking a new and expanded role in accomplishing this poste haste with assistance from the air and ground as this is brought to a conclusion
IMO in the next few days.
We also see a new concerted effort by the Abadi regime to complete the GOI with the edition of the MOI and MOD with only one more major post to fill.
With several needed laws including the HCL now entering the voting stage, the new eDinar ready to be distributed for salaries to all oil pipeline companies as of last week, and still no visible CBI rate for 30 days, it is safe to say we are now right on the precipice of the final implementation of all the economic reforms up to and including the revaluation of the Iraqi dinar.

What if there is no "real" global reset of all currencies and that is just somebody's bright idea they posted and that went viral?
What if the only currency that is going to rise in value is the Iraqi dinar because that is the only currency in the world that is artificially at the rate it is at, placed there as a punishment by the UN when Iraq invaded Kuwait?
If this is the scenario then all the news out of Iraq is very relevant and we should be paying very close attention to what is going on in Iraq.

Now euro traded and closed close to 1.07 (1.06 (787).... close enough to the 20 cent difference in the dollar if 3 x's the 6.some cents...... Now the Dolar was 3.648......The "sterling" was not listed.......STRANGE !!
But sterling traded closing out on the 13th for 121.6 (x's 3) which equals out or close to the 3.648....... AGAIN....numbers do get confusing but they balance out....quite odd eh?

A New Bank Story
From Jim ''I never put much stock in all the bank and exchange stories over the years because nothing ever happened afterwards. I thought they all just wanted their 15 minutes of fame or they got caught up in the illusion of hearing others speak of it, but I actually heard one from a very credible source.
An aunt of a colleague of mine who lives in New Mexico, where my colleague grew up, made friends with a Wells bank manager more than a year ago. (Based on our conversations both she and her aunt bought currency.)
The bank manager listened to Tony on occasion and owns Dong. The aunt and the manager spoke every couple of months and always agreed to share anything they found out. Yesterday the aunt was in town and stopped to see the bank manager for her normal chat. The bank manager told her, excitedly, that her branch can now buy and sell Dinar.
Based on my long relation with this family, I have no reason to doubt the information.
If true, this confirms what Ray has been saying and something definitely is in the works as I would see no reason for the banks to get into this market after all this time if there was not a value change coming.
Let's just hope something happens.''
