A daughter's snarky status update has cost her father the $80,000 settlement he won in an age-discrimination lawsuit. According to the Miami Herald, Patrick Snay, 69, was the headmaster at Gulliver Preparatory School in Miami for several years, but in 2010, the school didn't renew his contract. Snay sued his former employer for age discrimination and won a settlement of $80,000 in November 2011. The agreement contained a standard confidentiality clause, prohibiting Snay or the school from talking about the case. However, Snay's daughter, Dana, now at Boston College and a part-time Starbucks barista, couldn't resist bragging about the case on Facebook. "Mama and Papa Snay won the case against Gulliver," she wrote. "Gulliver is now officially paying for my vacation to Europe this summer. SUCK IT." ....

Approving the budget of the country has been delayed despite the entry of the new year , as the parliament sessions which submits the budget witness always debate among the political blocs; leading each time to a lack of quorum and to postpone the submission of the budget for reading and voting.

IMF says taxing super rich can boost economic growth

A new International Monetary Fund study has found that taxing the super wealthy doesn't stunt the economic growth of a country, and that redistribution can actually spur gross domestic product.
The paper argues inequality is harmful to a country's growth, and that redistributing wealth using taxes can reduce inequality and boost growth and the length of growth cycles.
"There is surprisingly little evidence that increases in tax rates impede medium-to-long-run economic growth," the IMF paper says.

Maliki's office: We will pay the salaries of the staff in February to Kurdistan to be pumping oil revenues and the entry in the general budget Maliki came out today and announced that salaries for February will be paid, especially to those employees of the Kurdistan and that the federal government is not responsible for holding up their salaries....he is claiming the Kurds are given 17% of the federal budget and payments to employees are to come out of that..... M claims what is going on is attempts by some Kurds to stir up nationalism....well I for one think it is Maliki who is stirring things up.....now he is trying to cover things up....like a cat....he is one, the Kurds are many....I can't believe that so many Kurds would all be saying the same thing regarding what they believe are salaries being withheld by Baghdad..... Maliki goes on to blame the Speaker Najafi for not bear responsibility for the budget by not even accomplishing the first reading....sounds like he is slinging barbed arrows in all kinds of directions....I sense he is not a happy camper.....he says that oil has not flowed from the Kurdistan for them to earn revenues because of the budget hold up. Shaking my head at the futility being exposed here.

Warned Nouri al-Maliki, Iraq's prime minister a few days before the collapse of the Iraqi economy and its financial system , and preached the Iraqi people, a deficit of 35 billion dollars this year.
There are those who say that the fiscal deficit is the real more than mention much , figuring out where a member of the Finance Committee in parliament, Hassan al-Bayati No. fifty trillion dinars , in a country that is the budget for 2013 amounting to 118.6 billion dollars, one of the highest budgets of the region !
I wonder why the economy is collapsing Iraq invaders who wanted him to return to the market economy and into the arms of the International Monetary Fund ?
