DC (via adept1) ...Bottom line, things look really phenomenal right now, everyone in the right place doing the right things, apart from people messing with this over the last 36 hours... I think we will be in RV mode by tomorrow...

But if it's necessary, we will let the world know what those people are doing...All the Iraqi politicians are in the middle of democratic elections, and the independent observers are happy because that is going well...Everyone has accepted the RI;

The CBI are working very hard to get this out...We understand many Middle Eastern governments have put their weight behind getting this done, and the EU, UN, IMF and BIS are doing a great job keeping this in line, in the light of day, and the correct process...

Also, a lot of the international banks understand that these shenanigans are not the right things to do, affecting international trading and banking, and they know which side to line up with.

The IT and banking folks understand they have to do this properly and legally...everybody in this entire process is looking forward to Iraq coming into its own and the RI of their currency.

2. AS PER SOME OTHER "WELL-DIGGING" FROM "SAGER" FROM 2 WEEKS AGO, LOL LOL, WHICH WE SEEM TO HAVE FOUND...TOMORROW IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE IMF "FISCAL YR" TO RUN FROM MAY 1ST TO APRIL 30TH........

NOW, IN CONTEXT, THIS SHOULD BE IMPORTANT BECAUSE............THIS STARTS THIER FISCAL YR OF 2014, AS THEY LEAVE 2013, TODAY............

Banking System and Financial Crisis in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region - Op-ed

Through the struggles over the 2014 budget the Kurds have witnessed a financial crisis that involves their banking system, one that could have likely been headed off had they put greater attention to their banking and financial systems instead of relying too heavily upon Baghdad in this area.....

they need to implement several things going forward with their new Parliament and government being seated.....make fiscal planning a key priority.....create a modern banking sector that will build confidence with the people and will lead to more savings and credit.....identify technology shortages in the banking sector and move forward with implementation of new technologies....develop new regulations that will support the activities of private banks.

What is really incredible is this is the same list that Iraq as a whole needs to work on to improve the banking sector throughout the country.

In the US the leaders of the country gather together to pass laws - supposedly for the benefit of the citizens of the country - these lawmakers are a foxy bunch - at present doing their best to push through a law which will devalue the currency of the country hidden within another law, so the nation will not notice!

Nice isn't it; that these same people have exchanged and sorted out their own house, got it all in perfect order and placement and well protected; having diversified their currencies and hedged their bets. Now they wish to turn the screw on the unsuspecting nation.

These shenanigans have been noticed - it will not succeed!

Dinarland is filled with so much speculation about the RI which Maliki has supposedly announced. There are many looking for this, especially in the M.E., after close analysis with contacts in Iraq, Jordan and Dubai the answer to that is there hasn't been one, and we haven't seen it as of yet!

4-29-14 Iraq News Journal: 8 billion dollars in oil revenues last March.

Oil Ministry announced that the exported quantities of crude oil and the revenue for the month of March, according to the statistical final issued by the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company amounted to 74.300000 seventy-four million and three hundred thousand barrels while revenues were 7,507 seven billion five hundred and seven million dollars.

spokesman of the Ministry of Oil Assem Jihad said in a press statement: that the quantities exported and the revenue for the month of March last recorded a decline compared to last February, because of repeated targeting exports through the line of Ceyhan - Kirkuk.

(not really a "bank" story...that's just what I call them)

DB- Whatever this is worth is up to all of you who read it. I met in person a man and his brother in Ft Worth who are immigrants from Kurdistan 2 weeks ago. I had no idea where they were from so I asked and they told me.

I then asked them both about the dinar and their immediate response to me was,"do you have some of it". I said yes I do and they responded "you will be a very rich man real soon". "As soon as the elections are over, a few days, and Maliki is gone forever, the RV will happen."

They went on to tell me that he is worse than Saddam, and he will probably be arrested, beaten, killed if he doesn't escape the country. They said that there are so many construction cranes in that part of Iraq that it looks like a jungle. Building high rise hotels, apartment complexes, etc.

Hellfire engulfed the sky and on the heels of the screams the rains came. Black smoke rolled without effort across the ground. As my hands sunk into the grey ashen mud, I lifted my face and sucked in the foul air and looked around at the horror which had come from above.

Figures with no skin danced in the shallow darkness of war. There was whimpering all around me. Where thick jungle once stood now there was nothing but a world of fire and burnt matchsticks. All the vegetation was gone, the green lushness replaced by stark madness.
