Pat: Wow! Dr. Jim Willie interview - Gold backed currencies - Dinar, Ruble, Yuan + more 4/6/14

Whole Eastern World Rebelling Against the Dollar-Jim Willie  By Greg Hunter On April 6, 2014

You'll want to listen to the whole 42 min. interview as they talk about currencies, banking, etc. throughout - including China's Yuan has been announced in China as being convertible, but not in US media.  Specifically mentions a gold backed regional Dinar, Ruble, Yuan, plus more  at approx. 38 min. mark of the interview!

BGG ~ I have several thoughts for today...

First, I vigorously disagree with the "anti-guru's" on Iraq's recent gold purchases. Of course it doesn't point to an immediate RV - but to make this your "guru straw man" to beat up on is foolish. If Iraq is buying gold as a "financial mattress" (a buffer or hedge would be the proper terms) for their currency, then my point is - they are building the DINAR a SERIOUS MATTRESS and I would submit this DOES POINT OUT SOME SERIOUS SHIFT in monetary policy. It is obvious.

Second, if there is such a glut of Dinar and big notes as implied by some "naysayers" - then where in the heck are they?? Has anyone not thought about this in it's simplest terms?? Private banks are screaming for liquidity - THEY NEED NOTES!! If there is so much stinking Dinar in circulation - it should be a simple matter to obtain what the market (in Iraq) needs. THIS IS NOT THE CASE.

NetGlobal:  So perhaps this week during the IMF meeting in Washington DC we may finally get the RV release. If the IMF wants to support Maliki's reelection, next week is the time to get it done. The election begins on the 11th.

[rts] Anyone catch anything on cl interview ?

[artmeister2] Nothing about Currency or Rv. Just ended a short Q & A on World Economics.

[freeway2] rts I didn't expect her to say anything directly about the RV, but she did talk a lot about the Global Economy needing boost and the Global recovery is to slow for comfort.

[freeway2] So I say RV, and the Global recovery will be on the fast track. Lol

Angel11: CL wants job creation and what a better way than to have an RV worldwide to have more people have money to dispense on new creations of companies and humanitarian efforts which will create new jobs and stimulate the economy worldwide.

Red's Headline Iraq Recap 4-April-2014

Shaways: Iraq aspires to be a donor country and we still need the support of the United Nations

Red Lily ~ In my opinion this is good news. Realize, however, that the UN has always been there to support Iraq in every aspect of rebuilding their country. We need to see Iraq actually APPLY these recommendations and procedures in order for the Global Community to take Iraq's government seriously.

After approval by the election commission on Iraq is a coalition of candidates voters to "economic well-being"

Shammari said, "What we want to work it is to raise the free market economy in Iraq 1

Red Lily ~ This falls in line with what the IMF and World Bank have been preaching to Iraq for the PAST 5 YEARS... Can they DO it??? We wait and we see. NOBODY KNOWS.
10 new tax traps to watch out for in 2014

By Kay Bell  * Bankrate.com  12-27-2013

Taxpayers can ring in 2014 knowing that they don't have to wait on Congress to finalize tax laws affecting their 2013 returns. The American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 that was finally enacted on Jan. 2, 2013, made many tax laws permanent and extended other provisions through 2013. But the tax-related celebrations are likely to be short-lived. Here are 10 tax traps you need to watch out for in 2014.

1. Get ready to wait early in the year.

The federal government shut down for 16 days last October, but taxpayers are still paying for it. The IRS says Jan. 31, 2014, is the earliest it will be ready to process individual tax returns. That date might even be pushed back to Feb. 4 in order for the agency to complete system updates and tests, which were interrupted by the shutdown.

From Red Lily's News That Matters

IRAQ:  Reflecting on the past month of activity

Keep in mind that the following is based on my studies of Iraq news for the last month (and past 5 years), and are factual based inasmuch as we can depend on the news articles and  my recollection capabilities.

Let's reflect a minute on this last month so far.

We have seen that parliament has not made any progress on passing the budget as election propaganda took to the road April 1st.  Of  course the election takes precedence over the Iraqi Citizen (sarcasm).  They have to make sure they keep their jobs as a stalemate government.

Kurdistan's President Barzani extended a "Goodwill" effort and agreed to export 100,000 barrels of oil PER DAY through SOMO.  The central government of Iraq rejected this proposal entirely. A couple of MPs suggested a compromise. One MP suggested 200,000 barrels per day from the Kurds and another suggested 250,000 per day. As far as I am aware, this too has not been fruitful.
