BREAKING - Britain urges U.S. Congress to stop blocking IMF reform

Posted by Vision on April 7, 2014 at 8:18pm

(Reuters) - Britain urged the U.S. Congress on Monday to stop delaying approval of reforms to the International Monetary Fund that would give more power at the institution to emerging economies.

Finance minister George Osborne, in a speech in Rio de Janeiro, said it was time for the world's new heavyweight nations such as Brazil to have a bigger say at the IMF.

"Let's implement the reforms we have agreed to in our international institutions like the IMF, so that countries like Brazil have the enhanced status and say that your economic strength earns you the right to," Osborne said.

20 Timeless Money Rules    By Carla Fried, Money Magazine

Money Magazine collected the best advice from some of the smartest investors (and other people) who have ever lived.

                1. Be humble

When you do not know a thing, to allow that you do not know it--this is knowledge.  --Confucius

Investing is a big bet on an unknowable future. The mark of wisdom is accepting just how unknowable it is. Granted, that's not easy.

Lessons On Investing From America's Richest Family

By Karen Blumenthal

Sam Walton, who died in 1992, was famously frugal, driving an old pickup truck and flying coach. After the stock market lost 20% of its value in October 1987, Sam Walton, then one of America's richest men, was unfazed.

In less than a week, the value of his Wal-Mart Stores stock had dropped almost $3 billion, reducing his wealth to a mere $4.8 billion. "It's paper anyway," he told the Associated Press. "It was paper when we started and it's paper afterward."

Given the wrenching swings of the past two weeks, many of us may wish we could be so sanguine about our own losses. But even without a few extra billion dollars in the bank, there are useful lessons to be gleaned from the way the Waltons and other ultrarich families cope with investments and market volatility.

[roudy] I played "kick the can" in my young years and know how it works. The GCR was scheduled for April 6, and someone kicked the can. Now it has to happen before the 14th, which is when the elections start in Iraq. I wonder who is going to be next to kick the can again,

[grandmajudykay] roudy Are you new to this?

[roudy] grandmajudykay , No, been in this before it became known. Had inside information from the beginning. It is interesting how the perameters of the process has changed over the years. It was not supposed to be strung out this long for sure...

[dinardiamonds] roudy than they have to kick can to april 31st rofl after elections

[roudy] The fact that anyone would make a determining factor out of the Iraq elections is ludicris. The process is way beyond Iraq at this time and the elections are just being used as a delay excuse. If you remember it has been used before..

[weimar] I agree roudy, but something is holding it up

[roudy] I was in the position to read internal memo's stating the reasons to begin the Iraqi conflict. It was for regime change and to line the pockets of the cabal and pay for the war. Dinarian's were just late comers and included themselves in the process. We can bring positive to negative now.

The previous posts in this series have specifically focused on the process and components of the shift towards a multilateral financial system dominated by the SDR and the International Monetary Fund.

Porta1:   Hi all... Story about a Lottery Winner.

An aged gentleman worked at a factory for many years received his layoff notice just as he was nearing retirement age.  His Manager feathered his hat with the cost savings for the company at the expense of the gentleman's retirement.

Having saved all of his life, raised children and hoped to spend his Golden Years with his High School Sweetheart now was faced with telling her the bad news.

Stopping at the local store where for years he always found a dollar to spend on a Lottery Ticket.  Purchasing the same numbers, a combination of birthdays and their anniversary.

With a long face he checked his numbers with last night's winning numbers as many times in the past.  As luck would have it he won the Lottery.

Millionday Monday Roundtable 4/7/14   Post By Rudie  Part 2
[millionday] it appears that they are having as usual problems with security but as we know by this they are expecting the gov to be put through as a majority government that change will be huge for the citizens as they are trying to get used to democracy

[millionday] this election imo will be something to watch but i will more than happy to not watch it at all  smile  -- let me see if i can find some more economic news brb

[dcook2] Does majority gov. equal dictatorship?

[millionday] i would be thinking the same thing in Iraq and it may be a fear of the citizens as well

[slh5282] Do you think the budget is going to be dealt with soon or wait til after the election?

[millionday] they are working on it constant by what they have told us

What Dog Sled Teams Can Teach us About Leadership    By Ivan Misner

The Conference Room   Published February 11, 2014   FOXBusiness

My wife and I had the opportunity to experience a dog-sled excursion while visiting the Ice Hotel in Sweden last year. While waiting to get onto the sleds and take off across the frozen river, we observed a very interesting behavior exhibited by the lead dogs in each dog team.

Virtually all of the dogs in the pack were leaping and straining against their harnesses, barking, yipping, howling and generally making quite a ruckus.

Smoking Gun? US Treasury makes an interesting connection

Posted by RA on April 7, 2014 at 11:46am

ZAP mentioned this morning that the new TRN is being distributed in Europe with the rest being done in the US in the coming weeks.  About a week ago, CBS Sunday Morning did a short documentary on the color and art of money.  What is interesting to note is that at the end of the video, the statement was made as a voice-over, "You can bet your bottom dollar that our money will keep its iconic look".  This was set with an image of the current USD transforming to a Silver Certificate.

Interesting though is that the US Treasury website has embedded the CBS video ON THEIR WEBSITE with some short paragraphs explaining:

"Treasurer Rosie Rios has always acknowledged that the design of United States currency tells the story of who we are as a nation and connects us to our history.

[tlm724] Iraq seeks to develop the economic sector through the implementation of programs of reform is the adoption of electronic systems and computerization of information and digitized modern techniques

[tlm724] companies' desire Global and wait for global companies, which confirms its desire to direct investment in Iraq

QUOTE>>MARCH 28, 2014
Today, the Treasury Reserve Note "TRN" (New US Dollar) was effected. This is a historic moment for our humanity, as the funds that were released globally yesterday, and are now live and denominated in the new US dollar. The TRN is on screens.

The Fed Dollar is being exchanged Over The Counter "OTC" in Europe first. That is occuring before the US begins the exchange this coming week. The current ''cash dollar'' will devalue somewhat, but it will not be a high rate and is expected to be at the 3-4% rate only (basis OTC Bank Charges).

The old Fed dollar (Deposit Accounts) is expected to be discounted 45% against the TRN. Being gold-backed, the TRN will actually prevent the economic collapse predicted by so many as it offsets the devaluation, and keeps the devaluation to a small percentage as above.

Greetings and Salutations,

The world is going through a metamorphosis; watch what is occurring in
institutions and in the political world. You won't see it all at once
because change does not happen over night; well not usually. But the
bullying primitive way of going to war to get what another has is over.

The regimes that have been in control will no longer have that kind of
control; you wonder why that can be; it is because people are aware all
over the world that no country or its leaders in their right mind would now
go to war with another country.

And so how does this fit with the prosperity programs. There are those who know that the trust that was placed with those in leadership positions has been violated beyond any idea of integrity. They know. And they are bypassing those corrupted by the greed for more and more. That is over.

"Began minting metal in the seventh century BC, while minted the first coin in (Lydia) and were made of gold, silver..."

This ring a bell with anyone? Several weeks ago I mentioned Lydia in a post. As this article states they were the 1st nation state to ever mint coin of precious metals.

The importance to us (by way of reminder) is that even then with an "asset backed" currency, touted as the answer to all the world's ailments, the currency of Lydia became debased.

Given all the misguided talk about asset backed or gold backed monies today this topic is of supreme importance to all of us. We need this ingrained into our thinking!

Anytime gov't controls the money this will happen. Why does history repeat, always?
