A while ago, my wife and I did what we do from time to time - ask if there's another cost-saving opportunity we've overlooked. I don't know about you, but the quest for fiscal prudence is generally at its highest in our household after some indulgent purchase. "Hey, look! We can compensate for this luxo-foobie by slashing costs here!" (Are we the only people who do this?)

The indulgence in question was an iPhone. My trooper wife had been braving modern civilization with a dumb phone. (Someone from the '80s would have called a slim, foldable phone which sends text messages anything but dumb, but that's a different subject.) It worked fine and was cheap, but, well, even it began to show signs of age. Cell phones not being fine wine, I decided to surprise her with an iPhone, to heck with the cost. She did not resist.

ReVbo This looks like those money transfer companies, that they said they would approve to participate in the auctions, are finally actually approved. If that's the case, that street rate spread is going to vaporize.

This is a big one. I had thought that the DFI funds of $180 billion were going to be going to the Ministry of Planning, or Ministry of Finance, or some other government entity, but here's an Iraqi lawyer saying they're going to the CBI.

Why that money belongs to the bank and not the government is beyond me (probably just because we say so), but it's great news for us because that means CBI's reserves are going to be in the $300 billion range now.

The MP Chalabi of the Citizen coalition has stated on Facebook that their bloc now has 210 seats secured and will soon be announcing the three presidencies (President of Iraq, Speaker of Parliament, Prime Minister)....and everyone believes everything that is written on Facebook....right....well when there is a formal announcement we shall see who is at the top of the heap on that day.

Uniting announce the names of its negotiating formally

The United bloc has formed a negotiating committee...seems they could be a day late if they are just now starting to negotiate with anyone....meanwhile they move forward with putting their negotiations and demands in front of other blocs to determine where interests may lie.

The council of 17 is signing papers today to allow Iraq to move into the major market of economies. This will allow them to represent themselves at next years summit.

The United States security counsel is in process of the release of all protections to iraq development funds and will be as oversight to make the transfers back to the country of Iraq as an sovereign nation.

Christine Legarde is in Africa at this years Africa Rise convention where she will announce at tonights dinner with delegates of the continent of Africa the Gcr and its role to the world in a roundabout way- what it means to third world countries to move forward as future leaders as partners to Global economic strategies.

Yes, the world is moving forward and the major benefactors will be the people of the world. This includes all currency holders of the world.
