5-7-2012 SWFloridaGuy: Randy Koonce, Kaperoni, BGG and Poppy3 are all absolutely right. This is in Iraq's hands and is also a very critical time for us in this investment. The RV is not in the banks as some like Jonnywg, Okie or Cap1 have claimed for over a year now. Right now our focus should be on what direction
Maliki decides to take this. He may decide to implement all terms of Erbil as he promised he would or he may stand behind former statements he's made questioning it's Constitutionality. If he does fight this than we are looking at a no confidence vote and a short delay.
If not than we will finally see the power sharing agreement implemented, followed by a National Meeting which should free up Shabibi and the CBI to implement phase 2 of their currency reform project. Upon that time and in accordance with the IMF and World Bank's approval and instruction, they will send the adjusted rate to the BIS. From there it will be released to all central banks around the world and will appear live simultaneously around the globe.
Please forget these ridiculous "gurus" who claim it's in the banks already and we should be looking for this every moment of every day. This won't show up in some small bank in Texas first, giving the whole rest of the world a heads up. Use common sense, avoid the hype and their pumping of dinar sales.

5-7-2012 Kaperoni: I think it's in Maliki's best interest if he wants to stay as Prime Minister to get this done in the next 10 days. Some people on these websites say nonsense like the National Conference has already taken place and we just haven't heard about it. That's not true. I would expect the National Conference to be somewhere around mid month, around the 15th. It definitely has not occured yet so we just need to sit tight and let it happen. Even though they have been ready for months and months and months we're not going to have an RV until there is an announcement of a unified government.
There has been no official statement that the tariffs have been postponed. Just that one MP calling for it. They can't impose tariffs without an RV and they can't have accession to the WTO without an RV so it all snowballs. The GOI is getting the squeeze economically because no one wants to invest in Iraq right now until they see what occurs.

Bank screens have nothing to do with it. I think we're extremely close. Talabani has got to come out and announce the National Meeting.
I don't know why he hasn't already but when he does we're done with this thing. Shabibi wants to make sure he has a government.
The UN is supposed to release Iraq from Chapter VII on the 15th. The National Meeting is not going to be hid. This will be a public event. That is the only way it will become law. You're not going to miss it!!

5-7-2012 Breitling: You just don't redenominate for no reason.
The redenomination is the result of the reduction of the money supply and the value added to it. They need the smaller notes to represent that.
They have to raise the value & lower the money supply at the same time. That forces them to change to rate, so they have to redenominate.
You have to have currency that represents the new count of dinar with the higher number on it. People don't understand the numbers, these guys that say it's going to revalue at $4 or $5, they don't get it.

Our flashback is from yesterday - This is still my current take. Though the National Conference is scheduled to take place this week, I find it highly unlikely anything happens at the meeting (other than the decision to remove Maliki). For all the reasons I have already pointed out and a few more. If it happens soon, Maliki will try to get it all done pre-NC Meeting. He'll try to steal their "thunder" - no doubt. However, there are several issues I don't think he can put to bed if he wanted to - he begged Al-Mutlag to come back to work and Mutlag said "ahhhh - not so much". Maliki got the trial of Al-Hashemi delayed (bank on it) and Al-Hashemi heard what Al- Mutlag did and decided to stay in Turkey till this all blows over.
