A source familiar with the Baghdad International Airport that many parliamentarians and government officials have flocked to the airport for the purpose of travel outside Iraq heading to many countries.

Indicating that some of them had their families with them His source did not reveal further details

Shelby I have two questions for this thoughtful forum...

1. With a series of articles over the past several weeks indicating increasing animosity for Maliki as the next PM, what is the National Alliance dragging its feet on announcing who they are nominating instead of Maliki? Is there something to be gained by dragging to process out?

2. Regarding Maliki's immunity...does the fact that he has won a seat as a minister of parliament not also include immunity as long as he serves in that seat? Or is immunity only offered toe the PM position?

[tlm724] BAGHDAD - Islamic militants overran parts of Iraq's second-largest city, Mosul, on Tuesday, driving security forces from their posts and seizing the provincial government headquarters, security bases and other key buildings.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki asked parliament to declare a state of emergency. The battle for Mosul was a serious blow to Baghdad's attempts to tame a widening insurgency by a breakaway al-Qaida group, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. Earlier this year,

the group took over another Iraqi city, Fallujah, in the west of the country, and government forces have been unable to take it back after months of fighting.

American proposal to solve the oil crisis between Baghdad and Erbil

So after months and months of bickering the US shows up and basically tweaks one thing.....when the Kurd oil is sold, they get their 17%, THEN Baghdad gets the rest....

the US is still pushing to have SOMO supervise the details of the export of Kurd oil.....the region must still export 400,000 barrels of oil per day as called for in the 2014 budget.....

Barzani is remaining quiet until he hears the reaction from Baghdad, but I cannot imagine him to be very happy with this arrangement.....and there is no mention of who disperses the 5% of revenues to the Kuwaiti's....this does not sound like something the Kurds would agree to...IMO.

REALITY TIME

This is certainly not an a post that I want to write. But, someone has to do it.

I don't care who you are, or how many days in a row you want to say "it's done". It isn't! And that is very unfortunate.

A new Parliament is to be seated on the 15th of the month. They have not passed a budget. They have no new Prime Minister. That gives us thru Friday if they are going to do this before Ramadan.

If not before the 15th, the new parliament takes over, and the business of seating a government will take precedence over the budget and any other business at hand.

The new parliament will have 13 days to seat a full government, decide on a PM, pass the budget, and revalue the currency, all before Ramadan.

Since the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) began changing the rules for its USD auctions in 2012, Iraq has been operating a de facto dual exchange rate system.

(There's a summary of some of the CBI's recent rule changes on pages 12-14 of this report from Sansar Capital.) For those with access to the CBI auction-mainly banks and (as of March, 2013) importers using letters of credit-the rate has been fixed at IQD 1,166: USD 1.00.

For the rest of us, the dinar has ranged from 1,194 to 1,292, with two major episodes of depreciation in mid-2012 and mid-2013 (see chart).

Chest-Compression-Only CPR (CCO-CPR)

Data from the first intentional effort to encourage and endorse CO-CPR by lay individuals showed that survival rates for patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest are better when bystanders do CO-CPR, compared with CPR that calls for chest compressions interrupted by mouth-to-mouth "rescue breaths." Sarver Heart Center's Resuscitation Research Group published this Arizona data in the Oct. 6, 2010 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), which validated the group's decades of research and advocacy.
