China's Silk Road wins big at SCO Summit

In a recently concluded summit of the region, Beijing has consolidated its already strong economic position in Central Asia.

In Russia for the BRICS and SCO Summits, Chinese President Xi Jinping called on the member states to "uphold the "Shanghai Spirit" for common development".

At least $16 billion of China's $40 billion Silk Road Fund will be dedicated to projects in Central Asia.

President Xi announced in Ufa, Beijing is willing to strengthen investment cooperation with other SCO members channeling the China-Eurasia Economic Cooperation Fund and the Silk Road Fund, "focusing on large infrastructure projects, resources exploitation, industry and finance".

China had already announced a $40 billion Silk Road Fund last year.

Iran's Day Bank announced on Saturday that it has officially joined the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT).

This was announced at an official ceremony held at Day Bank headquarters in Tehran.

dew7 : What happened to all the excitement for July? I guess being so busy this last week, I missed something. I will have to go back and see what it was.... Are the Bonds not what we thought they would be? I thought we needed a rate for a few issues this month.... but then again, over the years, I have thought we needed a rate for many things.......lol either way there is nothing to do but pray and wait another "2 weeks" that is what it has felt like for the last 8 years but maybe now we are looking at "2 months" Boy do I hope it is sooner than later!!! I know that if it is tiring for us it is more so for the leaders and news hounds.... thank you all for all you do!

Coolhounds  my pea brain is trying to understand if there is 700 trillion in derivative debt that hangs on the domino effect of the Greek default, how or why the banks are allowing this to threaten their existence. The Greek debt is chump change to the derivative debt. Or do I have it all wrong?

OK SO THE DERIVATIVES MARKET DOES NOT HANG ON GREECE, IT IS A MARKET THAT HAS BEEN STRETCHED FOR SOME YEARS NOW.

GREECE WOULD ONLY BE THE CATALYST TO LARGER COUNTRIES WITH HIGHER EXPOSURE CAUSING A COLLAPSE.
