Jul 15 11:57 AM [NavyVet] from my post 15 months ago....... I have a close friend whose father lives in Bagdad, was born there, was raised there, and has a very successful business there. He said Last Feb that it wouldn't happen until at least late June - in May he heard it was at least Spring, 2012. He is now saying that if it doesn't happen before June, 2012 it would be another year or more before it RV's. No one knows the date, and he is no different.... Never ever said he knew the date - just that they aren't there yet... not ready... and yes, politics has a hand in it. One thing he is certain about is that it will be at least Spring. I, like you, hope he is wrong.

7-15-2012 Hammerman: The rumors about the IQD showing up on the London exchange at 7.65 is correct. I had that information on Thursday but didn't say anything. I did show up for several hours on the exchange.
Tier 1 level cashouts have already started and there are rumors of Tier 2 cashouts but we can't prove it yet. Tier 1 has definitely started though. Someone is walking into the bank to handle my Tier 1 cashout, that's how it will work for me.
The rate for the IQD is over $7 right now for Tier 1. I'm hearing around the 24th that they will hold the National Meeting. I got word last night that Iraq was cashing in a transfer of IQD into USD inside of the country of Iraq but I can't prove it yet. I got a text a little while ago from a Iraqi contact that said inside of Iraq the IQD is worth $4.78.

Possible they are real close or there, 25,000 notes and I think 10,000 notes almost off the streets. If I was going to project it I would say what i have an that's about .86 to 1.40 and ill say another thing here: Some don't seem to understand this but the higher the rate you can bet on a lop.
The lower the rate the RV chances get 85 % higher so I'm inclined to go the opposite way than the high rate but none of us will know till it happens. The only way I could see it come in the $3.00 range is if it was reinstated.

United Nations: We are committed to facilitate the withdrawal of Iraq from Chapter VII
15/07/2012 Confirmed the improvement in relations between Baghdad and Kuwait BAGHDAD - Al Sabah: The Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon said the Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations have improved significantly, declaring the commitment of the UN organization to provide the necessary support to facilitate the withdrawal of Iraq from Chapter VII. He said Moon in a report to the Security Council yesterday on the work of the UN mission to help Iraq (UNAMI) that "the bilateral relations between Iraq and Kuwait has seen a significant improvement over the last four months have been the establishment of a joint committee to manage the navigation in the waterways involved in the Khawr Abd Allah during those months. " The Ministerial Committee of the Iraqi-Kuwaiti joint had met in Baghdad on 29 April, and Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, then signed a protocol with Kuwait for the organization of navigation in the Khawr Abd Allah, confirming that Iraq will sign a number of protocols with Kuwait during the visit of Prime Minister of Kuwait Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah to Iraq in the last quarter of this year, while he noted that the third session of the Joint Ministerial Commission held in Kuwait in March 2013. Iraq warns Turkey over separate Kurdish oil deal
July 15 2012 BAGHDAD (AP) : Baghdad warned Turkey on Sunday that its separate oil deal with Iraq's northern self-ruled Kurdish region could damage trade relations, the latest sign of tension between the two neighbors. This month, Iraq's Kurds announced that they have started exporting crude oil and gas to Turkey. The goal is to barter it for refined petroleum products to meet domestic demand. The deal is part of a bigger agreement the Kurdish government negotiated and signed with Turkey in May without going through Baghdad. The agreement envisions the Kurdish region exporting not only oil but natural gas through a web of pipelines through Turkish territory to the international market. "Exporting oil from the Kurdistan region to Turkey is illegal and illegitimate," Iraqi government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said in a statement. "The oil and gas are the property of all Iraqis and those exports and revenues must be managed by the federal government which represents all Iraqis," al-Dabbagh added. Read More

UNSC to discuss Iraq request to extend term of UNAMI
Sunday, 15 July 2012 11:55 Baghdad (AIN) : Informed sources stated that the United Nations Security Council will discuss the request of Iraq to extend the term of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) for one more year. It is worth mentioning that the Council of Ministers has informed the Secretary General of the UN, Ban Ki-moon, of extending the term of UNAMI for one more year. The sources added "The Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zibari, stated to Ki-moon, that the latest changes in the region and the Arab revolutions proved that Iraq is right in building the democratic state that is based on the protection of the human rights, so we request to extend the term of the UNAMI for 12 months according to the wish of the Iraqi government."
