Dan :(PTR) I cannot believe it's July 18th 2012 and we still don't have a RV. It is supposed to happen before the 23rd though. We've all heard the 19th is a possibility. I go into every week thinking this could be the week. Everyone is looking for something to take place. We all need this.
I think we're right at the end of this thing. The people we speak to are very serious people, which allows us to think that way. Nothing negative has happened since Monday. It just hasn't happened yet.

7-18-2012 Mchales Navy: Iraq will need a justification of the value of their currency regardless in my opinion. Meaning gold, foreign currency reserves and oil to back up the value. Oil will still need to flow. It is the lifeblood of their economy. The IQD has been stagnant at a program rate for over 3 years now ( 1170 -1166 ), and circumstances have improved economically and politically since then.
It would be safe to assume their reserves have increased as well. Which has actually been stated by the CBI. I would even say the CBI has quite possibly stocked up on more gold to boost up their reserves. Taking all that into account, I'm hoping an announcement is coming forth with a new program rate.

7:25 PM [poppy3] rich friends i have gotten encouraging words today from federal contact on the document signed today with the leaders of the us embassy in Bagdad. The delegation from America that Biden sent there and he has joined twice since they have been there are trying to intervene and move things along the only problem i see with them there is that they are trying to save Maliki's position and get things done and leave him till the end of his TERM....
News flash they informed me today that they have been assured they will move forward and if things in GOI are completed Ramadan will not interfere with implementation???? Poppy3 one more coming

Been pretty worn out but feel much better...per my own wishes and a request by jonnywg and SweetQueen, I am dropping in to let you all know things are going much better...looks like we find ourselves in yet the same place today as the day I made my last post unfortunately....as much as I hate to say it.
Please know I am so very envious of you all who have stayed the course, as this speculative investment has been extremely demanding and draining both emotionally and physically.
You all should be commended for your dedication and goal-oriented focus...this has been tough. Things have changed from hour to hour and even minute to minute. However, I still maintain my position...IRAQ is complete...this is simply a matter of logistics and timing -- period.

Iraq is seeking to overcome the obstacles facing investors

Chevron buying 2 Kurdistan blocks from Reliance: sources

Chevron Corp (CVX.N) is buying control of two blocks in Iraq's Kurdistan, industry sources said, as the second-largest U.S. oil company follows larger rival Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM.N) into a region where oil rights are a subject of fierce dispute.
Chevron's purchase of 80 percent of the Sarta and Rovi blocks from India's Reliance Industries Ltd (RELI.NS) is a foray into Iraq for the oil company after it was not involved in contracts awarded in Iraq's four licensing rounds. Austria's OMV AG (OMVV.VI) holds the other 20 percent of Sarta/Rovi.
Exxon angered Baghdad last year by signing an exploration deal with the Kurdistan Regional Government in the north, which the central government deemed illegal.

Erbil (Rn) : The Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon on Wednesday that the political crisis in Iraq has undermined efforts to resolve the problem of the disputed areas between Baghdad and Erbil.
Kirkuk Iraq is gripped by unprecedented political crisis days after the departure of U.S. troops by the end of last year because of an arrest warrant, Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi and oil differences between Arbil and Baghdad and file sharing of power and conflict between blocs of Iraq and the rule of law.
The crisis escalated after the move also critics of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to withdraw confidence from him, but he threatened to call for early elections and resolve the House of Representatives.

MP calls for Maliki, chairman of the parliament agreed to host Maliki in parliament

Weak vs Strong Currency By acquestoadmin
Currency is about the relative weakness or strength when compared to others at any given moment. It's not an absolute value. In reality neither weakness nor strength is better or worse. Strong Currency is usually from a highly industrialized country however it is not very true is case of Burma/Myanmar currency Kyat.
Weak Currency [currently weak US$ compared to strong Japanese Yen as of August 2011]
1. Good for nations which have a larger share of export than imports making up their GDP. Their exports become more competitive but at the same time their imports become more expensive.

Despite the title of this post, I am a huge fan of life insurance. In fact, if it weren't for term life insurance, I never would have been able to go to college and have a career as a financial adviser. (My father compared term life vs whole life and bought a small term life policy two months before he passed away unexpectedly at age 44. That life insurance served as an important safety net for me and my siblings.)
Nobody knows when their number is up, of course. But regardless, there are two kinds of people who simply must own life insurance:
A. If you have a large enough estate to be subject to estate tax. (This doesn't affect many people.)

Economic plans to the parliamentary amendment to the Law on Trade Bank of Iraq

Baghdad / term : member of the Committee announced that the economy and invest in the House of Representatives Nora Albjara for an amendment to the Law on Trade Bank of Iraq format that encourage investment in the country and try to sign him to the Ministry of Finance instead of the Council of Ministers.
The Albjara according to the Agency (news): The Law of Trade Bank of Iraq has been enacted in the previous session of the House of Representatives in particular year (2009) and delayed approval to the current session, noting that the Commission intends to modify it before the parliamentary vote.

Baghdad / range : confirmed the central bank adviser appearance of Mohammed Saleh the idea of merger of weak banks and small is a good idea and helps to build a banking entity with management strong banking.
Saleh said (of the Agency news) said on Tuesday: The Banking Law No. (94) for the year (2004) does not force weak banks to merge, but offers tips to convince weak banks to merge with private banks, especially the fact that a large government banks and with government support.

Iraq Inaugurates Prized Southern Oil Field

Iraq has inaugurated a prized oil field in its oil-rich south, the latest major step in developing the country's untapped energy resources.
Development of the 4.945 billion barrel Halfaya field is being led by China's National Petroleum Corporation, which along with partners Petronas from Malaysia and Total SA of France won rights to the location in Maysan province in late 2009.
CNPC Invested $3.3 Billion in Iraqi Oil Projects - CNPC Vice President

China National Petroleum Corp. or CNPC, the largest Chinese oil producing company, has so far invested $3.3 billion in developing oil projects in Iraq, the firm's vice president said Wednesday.
CNPC and its subsidiary PetroChina Co Ltd. are developing three large oil fields, CNPC Vice President Wang Dongjing said during the start of output at an Iraqi oil field developed by the company.
Kurdistan Region President Calls for Urgent Iraqi National Conference

Following the political conflicts between the Shia and Sunni Arab leaders in Iraq, as result of which top Sunni politicians fled to Kurdistan last Sunday, Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani called for an urgent Iraqi national conference in order to "confront the dangers facing the political process in the county," Kurdistan president office issued a statement on( krp.org) website.
Barazani criticized the Iraqi authority for holding the top Sunni politicians at Baghdad Airport due to the current political conflict between Iraq's Shia Prime Minister, Nuri Al-Maliki and his Sunni deputy, Saleh Al-Mutlaq, who Maliki is trying to dismiss and Iraq's Sunni vice president Tariq Hashimi, who Maliki has issued an arrest warrant against him for terrorism charges.

Baghdad - morning : decided to form a cabinet committee to review the purpose of accountability and justice law and propose the necessary amendments to ensure that addressing the gaps and constraints that accompanied the process of its implementation.
He said government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said in a statement: "The Council decided at its meeting yesterday the formation of a committee headed by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and representatives of the Justice and Accountability Commission and the Ministry of Defense and other stakeholders for the purpose of review of accountability and justice law and propose the necessary amendments to ensure that addressing the gaps and constraints process that accompanied the implemented based on the offerings of the accountability and justice in this regard including the granting of the Council of Ministers authority to exclude covered by the law of its provisions and to address the pension rights of covered by its provisions.
Talabani and Maliki agree to uphold the Constitution

BAGHDAD - Alaa al-Tai - Omar Abdel-Latif : Informed political source "Brief Center for the Iraqi Media Network," said President Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki agreed to work together to resolve dilemmas with the blocks according to the dialogue and uphold the Constitution.
The source, who asked not to be named: "The telephone call conducted by Maliki and Talabani to check on the validity of the latter, during which they emphasized the importance of dialogue and leave differences and work to provide services to citizens." He did not mention the source when to hold the connection, but he stressed that a bilateral meeting be convened by the President of the Republic and Ministers as soon as I return to the homeland.
President Talabani, who is in Germany to recuperate after undergoing successful surgery, had confirmed the confidence to resolve the outstanding issues in Iraq. In the meantime, research head of the National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, Deputy Prime Minister the leader of the Kurdistan Alliance, Rose Nuri Shaways outstanding issues between political parties.
