    [millionday] Iraq Stock Exchange announced that next Thursday, July 24, 2014 is the last trading session before the holiday Eid al-Fitr, which will run throughout the entire next week. It also announced that the first stock trading session after returning from holiday Eid al-Fitr will be on Sunday, August 3, 2014.

    [millionday] brb with more -- so we have the isx down until august 3rd -- very strange with the esx starting in august as well using the iraqi dinar

   [SHIEK] Millionday with the probability of a currency shift in Iraq, the army will be a top priority for the citizens to move about to banks, and the distribution of LD's. My question is who is running the Iraqi forces?

matt (@speedspirit42) Very helpful information. Thank you. It would seem all has been very quiet lately but I now we see that a lot of inner workings has been taking place.

JC do you suspect the next disturbance to the economy will be a big disturbance?

Or at least by January a big enough jolt to get the 2015 Reforms signed by Congress. How much will life change in just having those reforms signed?

Coastie47 :This morning on CNN it was announced that the BRICS Nations told the IMF and the US that if the 2010 Monitary reforms were not implemented that BRICS would move forward without the US and IMF and form their own monetary system. The deadline given was the end of 2014. To me it was a Sunday Morning announcement of the GCR..

GOOD MORNING, GOOD AFTERNOON,GOOD EVENING, AND GOOD NIGHT! DOES THIS LINE JOG ANYONES MEMORY? WELL, IF YOU WATCHED THE MOVIE "THE TRUMAN SHOW" YOU NAILED IT! FOR THOSE OF US WHO WATCHED THE MOVIE, IT MIGHT GIVE A HAPPY LIP QUIVERING GRIN. LOL

Comment - things are shaping up for the Wednesday parliamentary meeting. The Kurds have decided on their President of the Republic (POR). The Shia and the Sunni each have picked their people for VP positions.

Negotiations are still on going for the PM position but Jubouri, the new President of the Parliament (POP) is not letting any grass grow under his feet.

Earlier this week he set up committees to re-write the budget and he has stated the budget could be passed before the government is completely formed.

    [millionday] k here we go -- President Jalal Talabani returned to Iraq on Saturday for the first time since he suffered a stroke a year and a half ago and was flown abroad for medical treatment, state television said. Iraqi politicians named a moderate Sunni Islamist as speaker of parliament earlier this week, but have yet to choose a president or prime minister, a position which the incumbent Nuri al-Maliki is fighting to retain.

    millionday] Although the presidency is a largely ceremonial position, Talabani was widely seen a unifying figure, both within Iraq and his own Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) party, which has struggled to contain internal divisions without him at the helm. In broadcast footage of the octogenarian earlier this year, he appeared much weakened, suggesting he is unlikely to reprise an active role in politics.
