SlappySquirrel: Avg. Minister in the GOI makes 15 million dinar per month, which is equivalent to 15 thousand US cash. 40 (25K) notes = 1 million dinar 15 x 40 = 600 (25K) notes.
Are we trying to raise the value while reducing the Higher denomination note count in Iraq? If they are going digital with their currency, does it matter anyways?
DELTA: YES......EVEN IF THEY GO DIGITAL THERE IS A LOT OF CASH WITH CITIZEN. THEY NEED ALL OF IT BACK.
Pappa-J: YES DELTA THE CBI MIGHT WANT IT ALL BACK BUT THERE IS ABOUT A SLIM TO NONE CHANCE THAT WILL HAPPEN IF THERE IS NOT ENOUGH PURCHASING POWER ON THE DINAR GIVEN TO THE CITIZENS TO FORCE/ENCOURAGE THEM TO TURN IN THEIR DOLLARS FIRST FOR LD'S IN TURN GETTING THE 25K NOTES BACK ON LARGE PURCHASE ITEMS! BUT WHAT DO I KNOW?
Bonservant888: They will work on a dual system cash and digital, but as Delta says, there is A LOT OF CASH out there. They don't have to bring it all in, but some of it to get things going, to promote use of the banks, etc. And then over time, they will continue to collect the large bills. IMO
A new rate will help motivate them. Oh, just saying that, makes me so happy!

The government will gradually remove remaining exchange restrictions and multiple currency practice (MCP) with a view to eliminating exchange rate distortions. Such a move towards acceptance of the obligations under Article VIII of the IMF's Articles of Agreement will send a positive signal to the investment community that Iraq is committed to maintain an exchange system that is free of restrictions and MCPs for current international transactions and thus facilitate creation of a favorable business climate.

MY MORNING MESSAGE TO MY SOURCES (08/27/2016)
Saturday morning once again friends and it appears another positive week full of hope and promise is once again moving into another typical RV weekend.
The problem with this scenario is that it makes those of us, you and I, look like like we are lying to the people or are complete fools. This is not a healthy way to live life. Either do your business or get off the pot.
I believe most of us have projects we would like to get started and, quite frankly, we don't care about those "whales" that have already exchanged. They have had money and power for years and have done nothing to help anyone except themselves. It is time for real caring people to step in.
TO MY SOURCES AND THEIR SOURCES. WE REMAIN GRATEFUL. AND HOPEFUL. HOWEVER, IT IS BECOMING EVER SO DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE WHAT IS NOW SO UNCONVINCINGLY REPEATED DAY IN AND DAY OUT.
WEEK AFTER WEEK. DAY AFTER DAY.

From islandg1211 WHY IRAQ WILL RV
IMO, It was a failed policy to delay the RV last time they had peace and I don't think they will delay again. Read my last paragraph as to why Iraq IMO will RV.
When will the CBI RV?
That question has been asked and answered over the years by both the former CBI Governor and Architect of the Monetary Reform, Dr. Shabibi, and by the proxy Maliki appointed governor Allek.
They both said, "when the conditions are right. There needs to be stability and security."
Where are we at now with security and stability?

ChampagneLife: I read somewhere that late night Saturday night is the perfect time for this to go
Luvwolfs: Champagne I always thought it was. Seeing as Iraq's Sunday is like our Monday
ChampagneLife: all banks and markets are closed during that time also
Dinara: The reason Saturday nights are so good is because all of the worlds banking systems are down for a short time and would be easy to slip in the new rates is my opinion.
I always remember the man that did an interview about 6 years ago about how one Saturday night you will go to sleep and wake up to a whole new world or something to that affect......
I wish I could remember who gave that interview but he was a high official of some sort.
