Money. Sadly, it does make the world go around. There are around 180 different types of currency in the world, including the Albanian lek, the Haitian gourde, the Moroccan dirham, and the Zambian kwacha.

But you are more likely to know the slang terms for the US dollar and the British pound than any of those. Do you know where those terms actually came from? Let's take a look.

Buck

We use it so often, most of us don't stop to think that the word buck has very little to do with the word dollar. There doesn't seem to be any correlation, anyway. Why do we use bucks, when dollars works just as well? It seems there are many theories surrounding the origin of buck.

Long ago, when this site was young, I reviewed Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker. Eker believes that we each possess a "financial blueprint", an internal script that dictates how we relate to money.

Our blueprints are created through lifelong exposure to money messages from the people around us. Unfortunately, Eker says, most of us have faulty blueprints that prevent us from building wealth.

Highlights from last night, Obama spoke to the world and gave his two cents on efforts to deal with ISIS....and we are safer today....right.....the US Treasury meanwhile will deal with anyone who attempts to fund DAASH....how about dealing with anyone who funds any terrorist organization.....Iraqi's despise any intervention by the US in the selection of Defense Minister...saying they can do this on their own....meanwhile the Kurds are set to negotiate at a high level for their demands....oh and Obama says we are putting boots on the ground....hmmmm......the 2014 draft budget is quickly becoming a hot potato...who cares who has it...just get it approved.

Ukraine Crisis : Umbertino reported Ukraine Pres. Poroshenko says Ukraine made no concessions on territory in peace deal with pro Russia rebels. Plans bill for vote on "special status" in rebel held parts in the east. He also says Russia pulling forces from eastern Ukraine., raising hopes for peace.

Russia denies having forces on Ukraine territory. Pres. Putin says Russia developing new range of conventional and nuclear weapons.

Arthur : I have just received high level intel I cannot specify for security and clearance reasons but suffice to say there was more to the POTUS' speech than was meant to be discerned by the general audience.

First he described this "counter-terrorism campaign" as "different"...This is Warfare 2.0 using next generation DARPA technologies literally straight out of Area 51...

He then spoke of how he has "insisted that additional U.S. action depended upon Iraqis forming an inclusive government, WHICH THEY HAVE DONE IN RECENT DAYS."
