David Cameron and the British media have been freaking out about the potential Scottish independence.
They've blathered on about "history", "common defense" and other red herrings.
But it's really all about oil ...
Specifically, if Scotland becomes independent, it gets to keep 90% of the revenues from its huge oil reserves.

China Set To Win Asia Gold Pricing Race With New Exchange
(Reuters) - China will launch a gold exchange open to foreign players for the first time on Thursday, putting the world's top bullion buyer on track to win a race to set the benchmark price in Asia.
The Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE) will launch its international bourse with eleven yuan-denominated gold contracts, the first of a slew of bullion contracts expected in three other countries in the region before the end of the year.
A successful take-up could see more gold priced and paid for in yuan rather than the U.S. dollar, challenging the traditional dominance of London and New York in trading.
Asia, which accounts for about two thirds of global gold consumption, has long been clamoring to gain pricing power over bullion, although previous efforts have failed to win investor backing.

On Monday, Bruce's wife had a medical issue that placed her in a coma. Despite hours of attempts to resusciatate her, she was non-responsive and was taken off life support yesterday. Thursday News Summaries and Commentaries
Sorry for no news summaries yesterday Family...but for the most part all the news we saw was good, or talked of good intentions going forward.....the quick run through of today's events appear to be headed in that same direction...we shall see how things unfold for them today.
Finance Committee: budget includes 37 thousand degrees and careers and install electricity contracts
Ministry of Finance is announcing the 2014 budget will be returned to Parliament next week to include some 37,000 degrees and careers and additionally an installation of staff for electrical contracts.....this sounds positive in nature that they are including these kinds of things....

Vinman > Sylvia September 18, The ministers are already seated. We will just have to wait and see if that was misdirection or not. I feel it could be a disaster for Iraq's people to continue without a currency after they have been told for over a week they will have one tomorrow. Can you say.....civil unrest?

Tlar: I concur with everything Randy has said. I am hearing the exact same information. Our admin caused this delay by putting the stipulation in that the Security Minister must be assigned to activate the currency change and they got the IMF to go along even though their first response was against it.
In order to fight ISIS there should be a head of the military so it is a defensible move to coerce the Iraqi's to move on this ministarial position now.
The CBI has made some important moves today that bode well for a currency change.
They are able, ready and willing if the Minister is seated but best of all, they have the desire and the permission to move if he is. This thing is close. tlar

China Gold Exchange Launches Tomorrow

This site has attracted some of the most intelligent readers on the internet. Most of them relentlessly search for updated information and confirmation of the probabilities which we discuss here.
When stories break I'm usually provided a link well before I find it myself or other blogs pick up the story and run with it.
One reader who has been with me from the beginning, deejj87, sent me a link last night from Reuters stating that China has advanced the launch of the renminbi denominated Gold Exchange by 11 days.

H.R. 24 'Audit the Fed' Bill Passes in House
With all of the other economic and geopolitical events which are taking place this week we can now add the passage of the Audit the Fed bill in Congress. The bill was overwhelmingly passed with a margin of 333 to 92.
Congressman Ron Broun issued the following statement:
"Today's passage of the Audit the Fed bill brings us one step closer towards bringing much-needed transparency to our nation's monetary policy.
For the past 100 years, the Federal Reserve, a quasi-government agency, has acted under a veil of secrecy - controlling our monetary policy and thus, our economy.

I am dropping a note to let everyone to know the state we are in.... I want to thank a friend (he does not want his name out there) that wrote the last letter I sent out.
I know it looked different but it was from me I was traveling in Kansas City and could not send it out... We sent it out for a two purpose goal...
First to let people know that the Pres was interfering with something that he did not need to be messing with.. and the other to let people know how fragile footing we were on.....
After saying that the Winds have changed in our favor and now we are in a window until Tuesday next week to see this thing come out. The last thing that we are looking for is the Defense minister to show...

Between the mantles of responsibility carried, the gentleman quitting smoking, and the full gauntlet of working through all the world's concerns at his door, yes the man had a heart attack. Last Friday as it turns out, Zap and I were out over some birthday celebrations and during a motion picture, in a local movie theatre, Zap had a coronary event called a heart attack. He has since been fully examined in one of our fine Canadian hospitals Sunday night *wink *wink...and it was determined that while still serious, his heart attack may have had some minor damage done to it none the less.
