Five Things That Matter More in Life Than Wealth

I’ve been thinking lately that my relationship with wealth and money is like the one of someone suffering from bulimia has with food. I oscillate between a state where money – making it, keeping it and investing it – dominates completely and another one where I’m not that bothered.

How do people find a balance?

How do you find a balance between ‘money rules’ and ‘there are more important things in life’?

Millionaire Interview #70  Part 2 of 2

What has been your best investment?

I wish I could brag here about my investments in Amazon or Facebook or some other tech winner…but I have never bought individual stocks.

I assume I’d say I have had my best luck in selling primary residence real estate. I have owned many homes and at least 3 of them I have done really, really well within a very short amount of time (+50K-200K in 24 months).

The idea that you shouldn’t buy a house unless you are going to hold it for 5+ years is simply not true for me. I have made great money on homes that I have held well less than 5 years each. These large chunks of money from real estate sales are my best investment.

Millionaire Interview #70  Part 1 of 2
June 18, 2018  By ESI

Here’s another interview with a millionaire as we seek to learn from those who have grown their wealth to high heights.

Recaps Note: When did they make their first million - how did they make it - how do they spend it and how do they maintain it? -- As you will see in these interviews some share more or elaborate more than others on their answers – We hope you find their stories interesting with insight and advice that you will use.

My questions are in italics and his responses follow in black. Let’s get started…

How old are you (and spouse if applicable, plus how long you’ve been married)?

I am 42 and a long-time divorcee/mom.
