Millionaire Interview #78  Part 2 of 2
July 30, 2018 By ESI

How often do you monitor/review your portfolio?

I see my balances in Quicken probably at least 5 days a week when I update my accounts. Other than that, I log into Personal Capital at least once a week to look specifically at my investments and see if I’m on track.

I think as we’re getting closer to FI, I have a little more at stake in the game at least for those first few years so I like to know how we’re looking. However, I don’t really do much with either tool except to look so I don’t know why I even bother.

Millionaire Interview #78  Part 1 of 2
July 30, 2018 By ESI

Here’s another interview with a millionaire as we seek to learn from those who have grown their wealth to high heights.

Recaps Note: When did they make their first million - how did they make it - how do they spend it and how do they maintain it? -- As you will see in these interviews some share more or elaborate more than others on their answers – We hope you find their stories interesting with insight and advice that you will use.

My questions are in italics and his responses follow in black. Let’s get started…

Today’s interview is with my good friend Jim from Route to Retire.

How old are you (and spouse if applicable, plus how long you’ve been married)?

I’m 43 and my wife is 41. We’ve been married for almost 12 years and I’m working on sucking her into the personal finance community… slowly but surely!

Do you have kids/family (if so, how old are they)?

We have one daughter – one awesome daughter – and she’ll have just turned eight by the time you’re reading this. She actually helped write a post called “Like Father, Like Daughter…” a few months ago that my readers seemed to be pretty enthusiastic about.

Walkingstick: BR....Trump addresses reporter as 'Mr Kurd', and Kurds are delighted

President Trump referred to a Kurdish journalist as "Mr Kurd" during a press conference on Wednesday in New York and found himself hailed as hero on Twitter.

While taking questions, Trump called on the reporter and said, “Yes, please. Mr Kurd, go ahead.”

The reporter, Kurdistan TV journalist Rahim Rashidi, didn’t seem bothered by the reference and thanked Trump for calling on him. He then asked the president a question about how US relations with the Kurds will look post-ISIS.

"We're trying to get along very well. We do get along great with the Kurds. We're trying to help them a lot. Don't forget, that's their territory. We have to help them," answered Trump. "I want to help them."

Baghdad Mawazine News

Economic expert Dr. Salam Samisem called for a quick stance that gives reassuring signals to the public that the Federal Reserve's decision to raise the interest rate by a quarter percentage point will leave its impact on the world's economies.

Smsem, a member of a successful economic development initiative, said Iraq should "take a quick stance, especially as it invests in US Treasury bills."
