News, Rumors and Opinions Late Thurs.PM/ Early Fri. AM

Late Thursday Night:

TNT Thursday UPDATE for June 1, 2017
PM Abadi accepts the resignation of the Finance Minister. (Some might see this as a delay, but it was "supposedly" agreed that he would not resign before all of the calculations and numbers for revaluation were agreed and established.)

Iraqi TV is showing that the Command Center map is not showing any gains but reportedly only 2% is remaining. The news focus has changed to the resigning Finance Minister.

Iraqi TV reports ISIS preparing for its' last battle at the mosque. And indicating that the reconciliation announcement will happen after the conclusion of Ramadan. (Remember, you can't believe 100% of the news, its flawed to a certain degree.) #wearethepeople.

Now that the sun has gone down over there, let's see what happens next!!!!!

China's willingness to shore up its currency is boosting the yuan. Capital Economics explains the move's impact on markets.

By Dimitra DeFotis May 31, 2017 2:06 p.m. ET
China's renminbi appreciated Wednesday in the first trading session since the People's Bank of China announced a change to its exchange-rate fixing regime last Friday.
Capital Economics noted the stats: the yuan is up nearly 1% against the U.S. dollar over the past week to 6.81 per U.S. dollar in recent trading. The PBoC move is having more of an impact than last week's China & Hong Kong debt downgrades by Moody's Investors Service, which markets shrugged off.
