Weekend UPDATE for January 13, 2018

Bank Stories contributed to me from some members.....

1. A member went into a bank this past week in ________, where he does business. He had talked with the manager several times about our currencies. This time, the manager hurried out to him and said, "I will be calling you on the 24th, both you and your brother, about what you have been talking to me about. I cannot say anything more till then." He had been talking about IQD and VND.

2. On Friday a member asked their bank manager if there was any news about Forex rate changes coming. The manager went to his computer to read the general currency screen and found a memo saying "major changes coming soon, reboot computers on Monday so changes can take effect."

3. A member was in his/her bank on Friday asking about the rate on dong. No rate showed up at all, anywhere! The Bank manager told them that only happens when the rate is getting ready to change and to check back tomorrow. (Apparently, that bank is open on Saturday, I am awaiting an update.)

Don’t Worry – We All Can Be An Emotional Vampire Sometimes
By Judith Orloff MD

In my medical practice, I’ve developed enormous respect for the art of relationships, what makes them work or fail. In all successful relationships, whether with family, friends, or co-workers it’s vital that each person honestly examine his or her behavior and be willing to discuss it and change.

In this spirit, I find it useful to regularly assess how we’re relating to others–specifically if our behavior may be draining. In my book “Emotional Freedom” I discuss different types of draining people you may encounter who I call “emotional vampires.”

By Judi Lynch

One thing I realized early in life was that I didn’t like to be labeled. If someone told me I couldn’t do something, learn something or be something, sometimes I just had to prove that I could.

How dare anyone tell me I couldn’t do it or I wasn’t good enough to become that, if that was what my heart was set on?

I had to believe that it was my own personal mission that mattered if I wanted to succeed. Why should it be anyone’s business what I wanted to experience and accomplish? I heard the inner guidance saying, yes, you can do this.

Samson:  Morocco Adopts More Flexible Exchange Rate

14th January, 2018

Morocco will adopt a more flexible exchange rate from Monday as part of a long-awaited plan aimed at boosting the competitiveness of the North African nation’s economy, Bloomberg reported.

Bank Al-Maghrib, Morocco’s central bank, said in a statement it would widen the official band within which the dirham fluctuates to 5%, with maximum daily moves of 2.5% above or below the official rate. The dirham is currently allowed to fluctuate within a much narrower band of 0.3% either side of the peg.

The central bank will set a new reference price for the dirham on Monday.

“This is part of broader monetary reform aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of our economy and meeting our development plan objectives,” government spokesman Mustafa Khalfi said in a telephone interview before the official statement was released.

Moroccan officials have said that the move will help the country’s efforts to transform itself into a regional hub and a business gateway to Africa.    LINK
