Simple Wisdom From One Of The Most Famous People To Go Broke
In the late 1800s towards the end of his life, Mark Twain wrote one of his greatest observations of humanity:
“When you remember we are all mad, the mysteries disappear and life stands explained.”
Twain’s quote was primarily a commentary on himself.
A lot of people don’t know this, but Mark Twain went bankrupt late in life.
His enormous fame as an author had brought him substantial wealth. But Twain squandered it all on countless business and investment blunders.
Twain’s publishing company, for example, racked up record sales of its 11 volume “Library of American Literature”.

KeithN: I visited my WF shortly after lunch. The Branch manager greeted me at the door and immediately escorted me to his office, behind closed doors he simply smiled and said something to the effect, I am sorry I ever doubted you. Keep in touch with me everyday this week….

I don't remember the Br Mgr ever acting this way before in 14 years. He knows what I hold and he knows his own tellers own some too...VERY Interesting….. I wish there was a better word than Awesome but I got to tell you, it was sure a different reception than I have ever received from any Banker in my life
