subgirl says to angelboy():ERBIL, Kurdistan Region— Cross border trade in the first three months of this year has generated nearly 20 percent more revenues than the same period in 2016 after authorities installed automatic electronic system in the main border stations in January this year, according to office of Kurdistan Region Customs Service.
“The automation process has had an immediate and relatively large impact on the overall revenues from our two main border crossings with Iran,” the manager of the office Samal Abdulrahmam told Rudaw.

subgirl says():A new initiative, supported by former Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, head of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi’s Dawa party, seeks to form a majority government. Kurds have strongly opposed this, seeing it as against the principles of the new Iraqi state.
The KDP has already announced that they may boycott Iraq’s elections next year, an unprecedented move by a major Kurdish party not seen since the fall of the Baath regime 14 years ago.
Before the general elections take place, the Kurdistan Region plans to hold a referendum on independence. The vote is expected to be held in the fall and will include disputed areas claimed by both Baghdad and Erbil, almost all of which are located in Sunni areas, including Kirkuk and Nineveh.

subgirl says():Mosul’s favorite sweet shop back in business
MOSUL, Iraq – A local sweet shop in Mosul whose brand has become a familiar name all over Iraq has reopened after years of closure because of the war against ISIS.
With loads of trucks making their way into the liberated areas of Mosul, the direction of trade is largely one way, with little or no goods exported out of the city.
Ahmad Halwani sweet shop, however, is different. The name reminds locals and others from around Iraq of Mosul before the war, where they used to buy their favorite baklava among other sweets flavored with walnut and pistachio.

TIM: Frank another great call last night thank you all for what you do for us. Frank, i have been thinking about this for the past few days and want to throw it out there to you on what you think about it.

I believe abadi is holding off announcing the liberation and independence of his nation because he wants to do it on the day that bagdahi or whatever that devils name is claimed cailphate at the ol mosque on the 10th of this month.

I believe you are going to see Abadi standing on the same balcony declaring liberation for his country and fellowman. They imo will make that day a new holiday, independence day just like our 4th of july.

But the reason i am projecting this is because of something else. what a great political move. when he address's his nation he will also tell the people that he rid of that cancer and that under his watch will never happen again.

He will be made to look like a hero just in time for the next election secureing a second term. this is imo only, what do you think teach? maybe some extra credit?

MOSUL, Iraq — The Islamic State’s grip on Mosul has shrunk to a tighter circle of neighborhoods in the western part of the city. But many civilians are still trapped in those areas, and the militants are giving no ground easily.
