mountainwest74: chattels - I have my doubts about the story of Maliki requesting asylum on his recent trip to Russia. He appears to possess a dictatorial mindset. He could become dictator of a geographically smaller Iraq or succumb to that aspiration. Obviously, the one huge variable in that would be the U.S. policy.
chattels: @mountainwest74 Usually there is talk of Maliki seeking asylum in Iran
Spectra: Ok ALAK has told us many times in order to do this currency reform we need political stability .....WAKE UP PEOPLE THEIR IS NONE NOW!!! THANK YOU KURDS!
chattels: @Spectra There was none before, IMO. Sometimes it must get worse before it gets better. Keep the faith. There is so much that we do not know.

chattels: For the Kurdish leadership in Iraq, the priority of survival demands compromise and an attention to expediency that cannot be squandered on an on-again, off-again, generations-old national liberation struggle, with all the complex recalibration it would require of the Iraqi Kurds’ triangulated relationships with Baghdad, Ankara, and Tehran (to say nothing of the implications for their relationship with the United States).
Baxter: I believe we can very safely say.. that our so called investment is now at least in 2018.. if.we are lucky..
MichelleL: @Baxter at least some of us didn't bet the farm on it
Baxter: well... I bet about 100 acres worth..
MichelleL: I concentrated on a dozen mules Baxter
Baxter: actually... I have a lot of dinar... but I didnt pay much for it... as far as actual cash was concerned

Notes From The Field By Simon Black
September 21, 2017  Santiago, Chile

How a few Canadian speculators made 600x their money in less than five months

First it was, and all the unbelievably stupid Internet businesses in the 1990s.

Investors were so eager to buy dot-com stocks, all you had to do was put an “e” in front of your business or product and you’d immediately be worth millions.

It didn’t matter that most of these companies didn’t make any money. Investors kept buying.

Later on after the dot-com bubble burst, another big craze developed in junior mining stocks-- shares of small exploration companies looking for big mineral deposits.

Sirenfire: So as we are in these last days I encourage you to think about all of the things that Iraq has come to get this far. Some of the biggest items are that they held their own bond sale and raise WAY more money then they ever thought they could WITHOUT the US. That was recent...

They also have support of the international community CHINA, MAJORITY OF ME, COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD who want to come in and invest in their infrastructure and people through providing vital services that they will need and also providing ways for the Iraqi people to enrich their lives and help them move into the 21st century.

We all knew that there were corrupt officials on Iraq and now that one of the biggest ones has been revealed to you it doesn't derail everything that they have worked so hard to accomplish... It just means that this one somewhat influential person will need to be dealt with for their crimes if they decide to deal with him in that way...

I also am of the mindset that with the next pay scale coming up, and so many other events New Accounting year, 2018 budget being worked on this early in the year has never happened before in the history of Iraq (Seriously that is HUGE)... I could go on and on but I am beating a dead horse... All of this is IMO
