StephenMac63: Listen very carefully, can you hear that? Why, its the sound of books being updated in Iraq. I bet the lights are beginning to be turned off early in the morning as the accountants wrap up. To me it is the only country in the world that knows how to divide a nanosecond into portions.   Beautiful sound. (wink)

Don961: Interesting timing ... for an article like this to come out at this time ... imo

How to deal with good friends giving bad advice
By Marcia Sirota MD

There’s a disturbing trend I’ve been noticing in my practice lately. My patients have been coming into the office telling me that they’ve recently taken the advice of their close friends, with disastrous results.

We love our friends and most of the time our friends love us, but they aren’t always the best people to advise us on our problems in the workplace, with our families or in our relationships.

By Marcia Sirota MD

You’ve heard the phrase, “So-and-so is a really nice person,” and probably thought nothing of it. In my work, though, I think a lot about what it means to be “really nice” as I see a major distinction between being nice and being genuinely kind.

The way I understand it, kindness emerges from someone who’s confident, compassionate and comfortable with themselves. A kind person is loving and giving out of the goodness of their heart.

At the root of extreme niceness, however, are feelings of inadequacy and the need to get approval and validation from others.

Luvwulfs: To get us all through quickly and quietly I hope they do have exchange centers.

CharlieOk: As quiet as the ptb have tried to keep the rv "stuff"; I can't imagine that they won't have off location sites to exchange folks. Think of the many gleeful folks leaving the bank with the "slips". Dancin' all the way to their cars. Too many folks to hide their behavior. I see exchange centers.

Briona: CharlieOK, it does make sense to have them and they are not limited to bank hours.

CharlieOk: yeppers. And what about all the reports that they are already out there and staffed? Could all be smoke; but I see way more security and publicity issues at the bank site then exchange center sites. Mingling the puhlic with the exchange folks in the same area? Who does that make sense to?

RVAlready: I am finally starting to feel like this is OVER…. One thing that spoke to me is that Iraq must close out their books tomorrow. Tomorrow is not a work day in Iraq. Imagine our Treas Sec ordering our books closed by Saturday night!
