"Dine Out Downtown" w/ Downtown Ithaca Alliance
in lieu of Virtual Business After Hours
Wednesday, August 12 | 5 - 8 p.m.

The Chamber & DIA invite you to patronize the downtown restaurants and stores of your choice. Dine in or take out, help us make a big economic impact and wave hello to your Chamber Friends!

We encourage those who can to come see their Chamber/business friends and network from afar with an experience more interesting than Zoom at our desks. Visit your favorite Aurora Street, Ithaca Commons, Press Bay, or Dewitt Mall businesses to enjoy summer outdoor dining and shopping - one of the best things about Ithaca. Tables will be well spaced to comply with social distancing guidelines, face coverings are required when people aren’t eating, and appropriate sanitation guidelines will be followed per NYS requirements.

The first 15 people to register will receive a $5 Downtown Ithaca Gift Card to go towards your purchase on August 12th! Participate in our social media campaign that night and be entered to win a $50 gift card! All registration proceeds will help support the work of the Chamber & DIA.

Leadership Tompkins & Leadership Cortland Programs Postponed to 2021
From Deb Mohlenhoff, Program Director

It is bittersweet that we are announcing that the Leadership Tompkins and Leadership Cortland programs will take one year off from the traditional cohort-style programming. With the extreme uncertainty ahead, we are erring on the side of caution and not offering the standard class for 2021. We know the important in-person connections that are made through the programs are crucial. We also know the tours of local facilities and businesses are a key component of the program. We don’t see a way forward right now with that model but want to get back to those key elements when we can.

However, we are not permanently on pause. The advisory boards for both programs will be designing some modified programs that will be offered either for FREE or at a greatly reduced price for interested community members and alumni of both programs. They will be flexible, unique, and will keep leadership & community as the core focus. They will be open to the entire community.

We will be exploring virtual programming with nationally known speakers, workshops featuring our talented alumni, and special panels highlighting local community leaders.

This will also allow for a year of analysis and assessment of each program so when they return, they will be even stronger and more suited to the needs of today’s emerging community leaders.

Stay tuned for more details on the 2021 Leadership & Lemonade series.
Congratulations to our
Member of the Week:

The Chamber expresses gratitude to South Hill Cider and owner Steve Selin for their award winning ciders, investments in facility expansion, community focused partnerships, and creating a unique agriculinary tourism venue in Tompkins County.

Kitchen Theatre Announces Departure of Managing Director Stephen Nunley

The Kitchen Theatre Company sadly announces that Managing Director Stephen Nunley is departing the company after 16 years. Stephen has been a vital part of transforming the company from a fledgling start-up into a stellar community asset.

Excerpts from the Announcement:
“What Stephen (and Rachel Lampert and Lesley Greene) have accomplished is nothing short of miraculous,” said incoming Producing Artistic Director David Winitsky. “To build a tiny theatre company into a respected institution - both through great art and through deep community connections - is nigh on impossible. My primary goal as Interim Artistic Director is to be worthy of their years of dedication.”

"Stephen’s warm personality has cemented the Kitchen’s reputation as a welcoming, friendly space. Patrons will miss his hugs, handshakes and smiles in the Kitchen Theatre lobby. Not to mention his excellent sense of style!"

Thank you, Stephen, for all of the great theater - and the many important conversations in the Kitchen! We'll miss you.
