50 Summers of Mostly Mozart
From now through Saturday, August 27th, you can enjoy refined classical music in the heat of this NYC summer during Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival.

The event's lineup centers around the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, but also features wonderful guest conductors and guest musicians who will bring beautiful and esteemed flair to the programming, including violinist Joshua Bell, pianist Richard Goode, and clarinetist Martin Fröst to name a few individual additions . This year marks 50 summers of Mozart's musical marriage to Lincoln Center's campus for this festival, and to commemorate this milestone, the festival's artists-in-residence, the International Contemporary Ensemble, crafted the 50 for 50 project which will present 50 premieres across the campus over these five weeks, featuring a special focus on Mozart's operas and other great music.

Reflections from our Local Intern
The Lincoln Square neighborhood is one of the most beautiful and vibrant neighborhoods in New York City. Growing up in this area, the planters filled with colorful flowers and the pristinely clean streets were never lost on me. I could walk by Richard Tucker Park and see a crowd of people enjoying live music or sit and relax at Dante Park with a good book. Being away at college means my time spent at home has gotten shorter but I can't help but smile as I walk down the streets of this fresh and lively neighborhood. It never dawned on me how the neighborhood got to be this way just that it was. Little did I know the hardworking staff at the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District (BID) was to thank for keeping the neighborhood safe, clean, and beautiful.

As an intern this summer working for the BID, I am able to not only see firsthand all that they accomplish, but I am a part of it as well. I spend my days researching new businesses in the area, snapping photos to share on our various social media accounts, and assisting with the free lunchtime summer concert series at Richard Tucker Park. I am also excited to begin working on the BID's largest event, Winter's Eve, which celebrates the holiday season and brings live performances, food tastings, and family-fun for the whole neighborhood. From attending staff meetings to talk about neighborhood operations and new marketing ideas to hitting the streets myself, I get to actively participate in every aspect of the BID.
My work at the BID so far has been extremely rewarding. I have seen how much residents, including me, truly love this neighborhood. The BID's efforts keep Lincoln Square a top-notch neighborhood and I am thrilled to be a part of the team.
