Episcopal Home Sunday
August 5

What better month to celebrate our Episcopal Home than August, when most of us go away from home! While it is nice to get away, it is wonderful to have a place to which we can return.
More Pennsylvanians are living longer and unfortunately outliving their savings. For some of our rural elderly, especially, medications, grocery shopping, home care, and daily living have become huge burdens.
With support from parishes in our diocese, our Episcopal Home gives up to 32 people a safe, independent living community. The costs of this mission are more than any one parish can take on alone. Together, through our joint mission, we can provide the dignity and care the elderly in our community need.
We encourage our parishes to celebrate this mission on Sunday, August 5 by filling in prayers or wishes to the residents on one of the postcards that will be coming to each parish soon. Also look for special Prayers of the People and special sermons. Be sure to add your picture to our collage at bit.ly/eh-woven and show your support. Thank you for supporting this important mission!
