Catechetical Sunday - September 19, 2021
"Say the Word and My Soul Shall be Healed"
"Catechetical Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. This year, the Church will celebrate Catechetical Sunday on September 19, 2021, and the theme is: “Say the Word and My Soul Shall be Healed." Those who the parish community has designated to serve as catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry." Inviting Others to Encounter Christ
During Lent this past March, small groups around the country were meeting in homes, churches, and online using "The Search" series from Chris Stefanik. The idea of these small group sessions was to have active Catholics inviting non-active Catholics, or even people who were not of any faith, to join them in seeking answers to some of life's great questions: "WHY ARE WE HERE? WHAT'S LIFE ALL ABOUT? WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE DIE?". Evangelization often begins before entering Church doors for Mass and will ignite the desire for more.
Individuals may check out a FREE PREVIEW HERE to see if "The Search" is a good fit for your parish.

PREPARING FOR A NEW YEAR OF FAITH FORMATION
Have a Day of Retreat with Your Catechists and Youth Ministry Leaders
Planning a day together to pray, share your faith, and do a little planning will help to start the year off with the right focus for PSR. Here are some sample retreats for catechists:
Build a Prayer Station
A Back to School/PSR Prayer Station is a visible and public reminder that your church prays for students, parents and teachers/catechists. The idea is simple: create a chalkboard or dry erase board display in front of your church, or in the entry way, with an invitation for anyone to write their prayers on it. READ MORE
