Diocesan Lent Day: "Hope in Dark Places"
Knowing and Proclaiming Christ Crucified
with Fleming Rutledge

March 25, 2017
9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Church of the Good Samaritan, Paoli

Come and join me with the clergy and laity from across the Diocese as we engage in a day of reflection with Fleming Rutledge. Fleming is one of the best known and respected preachers in the Episcopal church; one of the first women ordained to the priesthood; and a prolific writer and respected thinker. It is a great honor for us to be able to host her. Someone recently described her as '"the Bono of the Episcopal Church."

"Hope in Dark Places" is a day of teaching, reflection and workshops as we prepare for Holy Week and Easter. It is an opportunity for our Diocese to set aside time at the beginning of Lent to think about the message of the cross in the 21st century and prepare for the preaching, devotional and formational work of Holy Week.

It is important to me that we gather as a community and as a Diocese. I strongly encourage you to come and bring a good group from your parishes for what I am sure will be an excellent day of building us together as the family of God.

More information and registration to follow.

With blessing,

The Rt. Rev. Daniel G.P. Guti érrez
XVI Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania
