Ordination and Consecration of Our Fifth Bishop
The ordination of a new diocesan bishop is a joyous time! The service will include diverse musical offerings, and participants from all regions. Clergy and bishops from the Episcopal Church, the Anglican Church of Mexico, and our ecumenical partners will participate. The Rev. Canon Scott Gunn, executive director of Forward Movement, will preach. Together, we pray for the Holy Spirit to empower this new season of ministry.

Please Note: Processions and musical preludes from around our diocese begin at 10:30 a.m. The liturgy begins at 11 a.m. Please arrive early.

Live Streaming: If you cannot attend in person, be sure to attend online. Tune in here .
Seating: Seating is available in both the Cathedral and the Great Hall. Processions and prelude music will happen live in each space. The Great Hall will be an incense-free location for those who have sensitivities. Both locations will provide a fine opportunity to view and participate in the service. 

Transportation: A bus from the desert, affectionately known as the Desert Consecration Express, as well as shuttles to and from the Cathedral have been arranged. Learn more.

Rest in Peace Judy Anderson
Judy Anderson, longtime parishioner of St. Dunstan's, San Diego, died last month after a bout with pneumonia and sepsis. She was active in Daughters of the King, Cursillo and on the diocesan convention planning team. St. Dunstan’s will host a memorial on Saturday, July 6 at 11 a.m.

May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

Diocesan youth in high school will travel to Mexico to explore the concept of "Who is my neighbor?" They will engage in service projects and will build relationships with our Anglican brothers and sisters just south of the border.

St. Mark's Hosts Tennessee Youth Group

This weekend 15 youth from Lookout Mountain, Tennessee will engage in service projects, a canyon cleanup, mural painting, maintenance projects and participate in the Eucharist at St. Mark's, San Diego ~ City Heights. Leaders from St. Luke's, North Park and Christ Church, Coronado collaborated to support this youth mission trip. Welcome, youth from Lookout Mountain!

Missional Voices
June 13 - 15 in New Orleans

2019 Missional Voices brings together church leaders, seminarians, church planters, entrepreneurs, artists, and everyday innovators to discuss innovative ministries and missional communities both within and outside of the traditional church context. This year we'll hear from people leading refugee resettlement agencies, campus ministries, a worshiping community inside a prison, parishes after natural disasters, and more.

Advocacy Training
June 28-29 in Washington DC

Love God, Love Neighbor: Advocacy in Action is a two-day interactive training that offers messaging practice, direct Congressional advocacy, and networking. Open to clergy and laity, this training is designed for those interested in learning more about the refugee resettlement and asylum systems, gaining advocacy tools, and having an opportunity to directly advocate to members of Congress and their staff about protections for refugees and asylum seekers.

Gun Violence Awareness Day

On National Gun Violence Awareness Day, June 7, gun violence prevention groups across the country will wear orange and speak out for those who have died. Episcopal bishops have spoken out on this issue and are working for change.

First Black Woman Bishop in Colorado

The Rt. Rev. Kim Lucas was ordained as the 11th bishop of the Diocese of Colorado. She is both the Church's first woman bishop and first African-American bishop.
